It's a European song contest. Every European country (I think, might be a few who don't) gets a chance to send one singer/group to compete. They all sing then spend about 3 hours video calling each country to find out how they distributed the points- each country gives their favourite 12, their next favourite 10, their next 8, then 7 down to 1. But usually countries vote for neighbouring/trade partners etc. so the votes could probably be cast before the show starts and there wouldn't be much difference. Literally the only good thing about it is Graham Norton's commentary.

Not eurovison related but I love your new avi..I remember when everyone in Sweden talked about it being political and that we would never have a chance of winning again. And then we did win a few years later (Euphoria)
