Backhandspring Help!

I am close to my backhandspring but im just to scared to throw it! please dont tell me "if you really want it you would just throw it!" because thats not the case, I used to have it on the trampoline and I wasn't scared to throw it, now im even scared to throw it on the tramp :( how do I get over the block
 
I used to have the same problem that both of you have! In all honesty even if you land on your head, it's not going to hurt because the trampoline will give underneath you. Once you throw it once youll see that you arent gonna get hurt! and you can go from there:) The "arms bending on the trampoline" thing is a strength issue. Try jumping forward onto your hands (in a type of handstand look) and bouncing right back up. This will give you an idea how to lock out in your handspring! Hope this helps!

Dear Glitterandbows, don't worry, being scared can be a good thing, tumbling, even simple tumbling is a mind game for all of us. I can't see exactly what is happening, but I know that passion and hard work can overcome many obstacles. Its best to condition your body to be much stronger than the needed strength for the skill. Don't neglect your flexibility training.
 
I just overcame my fear! Just think of how BAD you want it. Make yourself a goal, say "i want it by may 30th" or something like that. Thats how i got mine and my mind was like "now i have to throw it".
Thats my "mental" advice!
