Your coaches should have picked them up when they went to registration
They tried and asked but were not given any, similar to what others posted on here. Oh well! At least we snagged a Finalist t-shirt lol

They Tshirts were gone. ;(
I know - the finalist pins were gone before most finalists were even announced (I even went downstairs in the milk/field house) , you could only buy champion pins (on day ONE) - everything went fast - I do not think they were prepared very well for supply/demand lol

I have a champion pin I accidentally bought on Friday if anyone wants to trade! :). Wasn't looking too closely I guess.

The Summit should really take place before Worlds, not after. The final tournament should end with the highest level tournament. In baseball, the season ends with the World Series, not the minor league championships. While all those minor leaguers and sub-5 level athletes work every bit as hard if not harder to try and reach whatever goal they're reaching for, the highest level teams will alays get the attention. That's just the way it goes. I think an all-levels end of year tournament is a good thing for everybody including the business of cheer but the season should end with Worlds

I would love to see pictures of the pins, t-shirts or other goodies everyone got at the Summit! :)

Pin that all participants should have received, was my understanding. And medal all teams received at reveal ceremony on day 1.

And to add, I believe it's a bit ridiculous to have a Worlds-type competition for Level 1... I don't know how I feel about this, but I'm just going to go out on a limb... I don't like the idea of other levels having the same privileges of Level 5... If anything maybe the Summit could be just Level 4, or 4 & 3 and be in the much smaller DisneyLAND LOL but this could just be my selfish self...

Personally, I think the fact that all levels can go is truly the great thing about it. I'm level 4.2. I've been level 2 for 8 years, one year on level 3, and now a year on 4.2. I'm never going to go to worlds, my tumbling isn't strong enough. It's great for girls like me who are almost at the end of their cheer "careers" who want that level of competition but can never really get all the way to worlds. I loved going to the Summit because it's my Worlds!

I really like smart newbies like you are :)

One gym that I know of personally used a few level 5 Worlds athletes that stayed and competed on a Senior level 3 team which I feel is unfair. They did not compete on the Senior 3 team during the year. I think the only way they should be able to compete at the Summit is if they were doubleteaming the whole year. I think teams try to stack their lower level teams for a better chance at winning. The competition was run just as well as Worlds (just smaller crowds). Impressed with it, just hope they control the rosters for future competitions.
Yep. There should be a rule: If you competed at Worlds, you are not eligible to compete at Summit. Boom.

I have so many thoughts on The Summit and can't put them all in this post so let me just say that I felt it was run fairly well for a first year event. There is always a fear that the first year of an event can be a disaster but I feel like it went pretty smooth, there are some things that need to be worked out but overall it was a decent event. It would be nice to have the coverage aired on the TV system in the Disney resorts like Worlds was so people who cannot make it to the arena to see a certain team due to practice, getting ready to compete etc. can watch in their room.
As for the sandbagging comments, I agree 100%. This is not a problem just at the Summit but in allstar cheerleading in general. I know there are no rules against it but it's getting a bit out of hand. But as with most things, use it and abuse it until they stop you. It's just a shame for the legitimate teams out there to lose to teams that are "loaded up".
