All-Star Any Gyms In The Atlanta Area Have A Good J5 Team?

Well I know for a fact that you can be clean and put on a show. I don't recall using the term flashy. Being clean doesn't necessarily mean they're entertaining. There is a big difference between the two terms. One speaks strictly to the execution and technique and the other speaks to how people relate to it (either you're feeling it or you're not).
You didn't use the word flashy, but you did say they bore you. To you Stingrays are boring, and that's okay, but to me and to many others, they are clean & they put on a show..they hit the score sheet. If they couldn't do both, they wouldn't have as many Worlds, Cheersport, NCA or UCA titles as they do. The great thing about this sport though, is that there are gyms everywhere and you can pick whatever gym works for you and your family.

never said it was the end all be all. there are plenty of gyms in atlanta that hold their own. i just thought it was a little odd that you wouldn't choose a gym because their routines bore you, that's all.

Actually I think that is a very valid reason and I am pro Stingrays. While I don't agree with the poster she has her right to think that and of course style of routine could sway a family from connecting to a gym. Its like saying they like or dislike the uni's or the comp schedule or anything else that they would ultimately be paying for. You gotta pay for what you like.

Just so everyone is on the same page...the poster is/was with Trinity...I will let everyone take that as they will.

So is your comment to insinuate that I don't have a right to be bored by a routine? I'm confused as to what that has to do with anything. Trinity has amazing talent and had they been able to focus on growing the program and avoid all the outside drama that detracted from the athletes we'd probably still be there. Be that as it may, we've moved on. I was asked a question about why I was looking for a program aside from the most obvious in Atlanta that had a J5. I answered that question and if anyone took offense, that sounds like something that particular person would have to work out on their own. I stand by my decision for my daughter to cheer at Trinity and I stand behind my choice to verbalize that I am not impressed with certain routines. But I know better next time. I won't be an individual and express an opinion that differs from the majority. I mean goodness. If we all liked the same programs we'd all be at the same gym wearing the same uniform. I swear you'd think I committed blasphemy or burned a flag or something. Relax.

In order for me to "relax" I would actually have to care to begin with. I just find it funny you were the same poster popping up in every Trinity thread defending them and right after NCA started a thread about Trinity possibly having a J5. Now your looking for another J5 while taking digs at Rays. They may be "boring" but "boring" has achieved the 2nd highest amount of NCA tropheys next to CA so they must be doing something right....

I guess I am confused as to why you are asking the question? You have competed whats sounds like an entire season with Trinity. You live in the area but you don't know what gyms are around that you would be willing to drive to? I think I would just give a little ring a ding ding to the surrounding gyms and ask: "What level teams do you think you will be offering this season? Oh, Jr. level 4 and Jr. 5? Well, can I please set up a try-out for my daughter?" I get this strange feeling you had a different motive for asking the question...just not exactly sure what that is.

I actually have to say that I'm in the minority on this one.
Ex-Trinity parent/athlete has every right to prefer a particular style program. We're FAMEous, so I get the whole "flash, show, bling, fierce" thing. The fact that the family is ex-Trinity is (hopefully) irrelevant to the discussion. Now, if you want to be a conspiracy theorist, poster could still be a Trinity parent (or someone posing as Trinity parent) who's trying to find out which other nearby programs will have a J5 this season, whether or not it's been publicly announced. Furthermore, I would stick up for my program while we were members and not have the least problem leaving, if that's what my family decided to do. I don't see that as a problem at all.
My advice would be the same as previously listed - look up gyms in your area and find out where your athlete can try out (pretty sure your cp would know what style program she "likes," since she apparently knows what she doesn't like.) But have an open mind and heart - just because Susie was J5 at Trinity, doesn't mean she would make a J5 elsewhere. Don't pick a gym because of a team.
