My favourite would be 'make a T to the front' before any sort of full down or double down. I think it just creates a nice mental image of what they need to do.
We used to say "beauTIful) out loud to our flyers, we'd go BEAU... (The dip) T! (The T) FULL! (The twist) it really helped them with the timing!

'I may yell at you, and I may tell you that if you don't try hard enough then I'll be dropping you down a level, but that's only because I love you and believe in you, and if you try hard enough, you can achieve anything you want'. That same practice I got my roundoff BHS tuck and 2 weeks after that I got my layout... after trying for 2 years. Thankyou coach!

About a tumble block in the CP that lasted almost a season:

"Don't even discuss it at home, just let her coaches help her through it." - Ben Pope

Best advice ever. No perceived "pressure" from home, and she made it through.

Funny enough, we are there right now. I haven't mentioned tumbling since before tryouts. Just taking a deep breath and letting it go.

Practice is what makes us better, so we can come together on the mat and be a team.

One of our owners used to always tell me right before we went on ," Just breathe." since I used to get so nervous before performing and that always seemed to help.
Before major competitions my team would circle up and collectively take a deep breath and let it out. It helped a lot with nerves and calmed people down. Probably the most helpful thing I have ever done before competing.

At one point I couldn't land my double to save my life... ALWAYS one and a halves. I never fully rotated around. I did drill after drill and got advice from all of my coaches and nothing worked... I got soooo frustrated. Until one night I was trying to pull my double again and I couldn't do it ALL practice. I got so desperate that I asked this random UCF college girl and she told me "Just Think of doing a triple instead"
I tried it and landed flawlessly. The tip was sooo simple but if you hear the RIGHT advice then ANYTHING can become possible.
