Here's the few chapters to get you started:
Browse Inside Divergent by Veronica Roth

Literally less than a minute in and I'm already reminded so much of the Hunger Games with this whole getting ready for the test thing and when she says "I think my mother could be beautiful, in a different world." Katniss says basically the same thing about her mom when she's describing her in the Hunger Games. I think I'm gonna have to go run to Barnes and Nobel and pick this one up!!

Be forewarned, you may be making a trip back for book two (Insurgent) in the same week....;)

... and you'll be back in October for the 3rd one.

I'm not in love with the cast though... aside from Kate Winslet because she's Kate Winslet.

I haven't finished the book but I don't like Shailene Woodley for Tris. She just doesn't seem right to me. I can't really explain it. And I never liked The Secret Life of The American Teenager.

I am just hoping that she is more The Descendants rather than Secret Life, as far as her acting goes. She comes across as whiny in Secret Life, but was more likeable and normal in some of the interviews I've seen of her.

Not necessarily beach reads, but just some really great books! I will definitely be posting in this thread at least a million times!

Along for the ride - Sarah Dessen (I recommend all of her books! They all have a summer theme and are very good!)
The Fault In Our Stars - John Green (Going to be made into a movie!)
Looking For Alaska - John Green
An Abundance of Katherine's - John Green
Perks Of Being A Wallflower - Steven Chbosky
Thirteen Reasons Why - Jay Asher (Going to be made into a movie!)
Safe Haven - Nicholas Sparks

I really don't understand why this book is so popular. I didn't like this book personally. I feel that it was dramatized and the situations in the book were not even so horrifyingly traumatizing. Call me heartless, but I don't feel that I felt any sympathy for Hannah. I don't like the format of the book, and I think that it was tacky, and the reasons put out in the book are bad reasons for one to kill him/herself. Then again, there is almost never a good reason for anybody to kill themselves.

I read it a long while ago so I don't remember a lot of detail and stuff but so also did not understand what they hype was about.

I loved The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo books! The first one was hard for me to get into, but they're all so good!

Also if anybody saw Silver Linings Playbook, I'm reading the book and it's pretty good!

Thirteen Reasons Why is a great book! It is one of few books that I have actually finished! Pretty sure I cried while reading it!

For any of you adults, I just read Gone Girl and couldn't put it down. It's a little heavy for younger people, but just so crazy and out there I read it all in a day... It's wild. And great. And I would love for anyone else to read it so I could discuss it. Haha

Reading And the Mountains Echoed by Hosseini. Ok - so far but "A thousand splendid suns" by the same author was awesome. But also not lite reading.
