**BTW IM 12 AND IN 7th GRADE***

I plan on applying to oxford, Cambridge, and Emory.
I really want to be a doctor, and I really want to be a OBGYN.
So I guess I'll need a 4.0 in high school for oxford(<3) to even look at accepting me.
(Have any of you invested in stocks yet? Is it weird that my parents have already bought my twin bro and I stocks?)

Yeah, I found out they don't give scholarships but I'd still love to go there. But thank you! :)
USC is a horrible campus. Located in one of the worst areas of Los Angeles. Grew up in san fernando valley :)
Get good grades an apply for academic scholarships. Over 72% of all USC students are on a form of financial aid. Private schools have some of the best aid.

I see you're a parent, which means you probably grew up around San Fernando a while ago-- a while ago, you would have been completely correct. I work in the admissions office at SC, and regularly talk to alumni who are astounded at how much improvement there's been in the past couple decades. As a current student, I can honestly say I really like our campus. Yeah, it's not nearly as "trendy" as Westwood, but it's only about 2 miles from LA Live, and everywhere within a couple mile radius of campus is completely safe and patrolled by USC's Department of Public Safety/LAPD. Neither I nor anyone I know has ever felt unsafe on or around campus. Students regularly walk home from the Row at 2 AM (while completely intoxicated) and never have any problems. There have only been a couple more "serious" crimes in the past few years (both of which were quickly resolved). The only sort of crime that tends to happen nowadays is the occasional bike theft, and that's only with people who fail to invest in something like a $30 bike lock.

That's the original and real USC!

You can keep the earlier founding date; I'm happy with the higher quality education ;)

Lol! As for it being safer, much better than 10 yrs ago even. There has been a massive improvement to the area. You need a bigger stadium though, you guys could fill it!

And you probably don't like it there because you've lived there for most of your life , and I love it there , so it's still my number 2 choice.

I've lived in South Carolina and I absolutely love where I'm from in SC and would recommend USC to anyone on the planet.... Once you are older and start researching schools it may or may not remain your #2. Guess I have an "in state" bias toward it;)

I know you said that you went to South Carolina so you probably hate Clemson but....Do you know anyone who has gone there and liked it? Also, if you don't mind me asking, what is the weather like in South Carolina during the winter? :)

Yeah, I know several people that absolutely loved Clemson. I know families where every child has gone to Clemson. I personally never considered Clemson, not because I'm a "2nd generation" Gamecock and from Columbia (I didn't go to USC for undergrad) but because Clemson is in a small town...and I absolutely could not stand to live in a small town...esp in SC...esp in upstate SC . A lot of the friends I made in college were from right outside of Clemson and I'm sure they would have attended there as well if it wasn't in their backyard (like me for USC). The area around campus is cute...but I just prefer access to a city....and diversity.

But yeah, I've known several people that have gone to Clemson and while I know people that have flunked out for partying, I can't name a single person that left on their own free will because they didn't like it.

The weather in SC is...."mild" in the winter and hot as hell in the summer (although...we haven't had unbearable heat and its mid June which is shocking). If you're from "up north" our winters would be a walk in the park for you. Right now I live in Charleston, SC and I'm from Columbia....so other than Rock Hill, SC I've never lived in upstate SC near mountains...so I'd think that the mountains would mean that Clemson is a little bit colder in the winter. It snows there...I don't think very often and I don't think there is much accumulation. I think there may be "ice storms" as well. I'd also assume that when these events occur the whole...city/town/village shuts down like around the rest of the state.

I recently have been looking at schools with good Physical Therapy programs. If anyone has any suggestions or knowledge about any PT programs if you could help me out that'd be great :) I would prefer a larger school, and I live in Missouri. Mizzou is a top choice for me but the PT program isn't the best so I don't just want to settle for that b/c my whole family went, it's close, and convientent. Thanks :)

Thanks so much! I'm trying to decide between Ohio State and Clemson for the fall. And yes, I'm from Pittsburgh so the "mild" winters will probably feel like a tropical paradise compared to the winters we have up here :)

I considered Ohio State because I lived in Columbus when I was younger but my mom reminded me of how much I hated the cold. I know 3 people that have gone there. 1 girl transferred but only bc she was SC and was far from home and the 2 other girls are from Columbus and one is going back for med school

I go to bowling green state so if anyone has any questions ask away! We've placed top 4 in UCA small coed the past 5 seasons. This past season we took 2nd and placed top 3? I believe at STUNT nationals

My uncle went to Clemson and LOVED it. Also my brothers best friends family went to Clemson. When my brother goes there for football camp every year, I always love going to the campus. The dorms are great too.

Can I bump this? I'm a rising senior and I'm starting on my applications (two of them sent in already) and I just wanted to know where everyone else was planning on applying!
