You're 11 and are a head coach? Are there any certified coaches at the gym? What age girls are on the team?
Could it be that they aren't confident because it's not an adult teaching them? Just trying to figure out why they are scared of thigh stands.

My mom is there to teach and help but i make up the dances and do some more stuff. She spots and helps with stunts but im mostly teaching i have like a million books and a bunch of websites and videos ive looked at we arent competing were just doing it for funand the only reason is in my state theres only one allstar gym and its 2 hours away.

This thread throws up some red flags for me.
If flyers are crying about thigh stands, then:
1. They are getting thrown into something that they are not mentally ready for
2. Probably don't understand what they are supposed to be doing physically
3. Should not be forced to fly until mentally and physically ready, as they will freak out in the air and possibly injure others

Beginning flyers should be doing drills first and foremost to get body control (tight body drill, step & lock drill, eventually cradle hold drill & hang drill). They need to feel confident in their abilities to stay tight/lock as well as visually understand what the correct thing to do is (shown by another group, youtube video, etc. etc.) before anyone goes up in the air.

If you and your mom don't know proper drills & progressions to teach these stunts with correct technique, then I strongly urge the parent/coach in charge to get some coaching classes/credentials under their belt before doing trial and error with any athletes. Many of the different cheer companies hold classes across the nation and additionally have coaches dvds/manuals readily available.

I understand what your saying it makes a lot of sense but i feel like some of these girls arent listening because they think it will be easy and when i run through the drills again they get mad because they think im telling them their bad but their not they hae never done cheer before there is also a lot of drama which might make them stressed im really not sure.

Honey, I think you need to concentrate on being a kid and let your mom concentrate on being the coach. There are many coaches on here who would be happy to help her out with any questions she has. I know you're only trying to help, but for your safety and the safety of the girls in the program, it's best if an adult with the proper experience and credentials handles the crying flyers.

If you're 11, don't post where you live. And sometimes we gave to deal with things that aren't the way we like. If there aren't any gyms or rec teams or high schools anywhere near you then maybe cheer just isn't meant to be in that area.

Maybe hunting would work better?
