Nothing against Philly at all. I'm sure it's a fun time, and a great city. I am just thinking as someone that would consider commuting as a spectator. I can't imagine it being cheap from anyone outside of the NE. I know I live in MN and that's not exactly ideal for ANYONE, but for me to get there would be $490 with 2 layovers as of right now. I'm sure it's similar for most people outside of that bubble (teams from CA, TX, WI).

You don't happen to live in St. Olaf, do you? :p Sorry, I couldn't help myself and I just love me some golden girls.

Would The Majors be considered a smaller niche competition in your eyes? That was going to be the first example that came to mind when mentioning gyms attending a non-bid even pretty much of no other reason than the sake of competing. Granted, there was an actual prize the 1st year. But even after being a massive failure for CA, they still went back the 2nd year with no prize. I'll be interested in who accepts invites this year. No disrespect to Cali or CA, but I don't think a tie last year was good for business either.

I cannot comment on whether they were able to defer costs by other teams attending Jamfest though.

The Majors piggy-backs off of Super Nationals though, it's not really a fair comparison. I understand that a lot of the Majors gyms don't compete at Indy, but CL is trying to replicate that success with no other event to help support it.

Oh - and round trip flights are $155 from Boston for Friday - Monday of that weekend. Good for ECE I guess.

That's approximately how much my flight would be right now if this was in Dallas, Las Vegas or Atlanta. Indy is about $350 right now and Orlando is about $250. They haven't said if this will be in Philly every year. If it rotates places, everyone will have to pay eventually.

I just woke up and definitely forgot too add that in @NJ Coach. Last time I went to Dallas for NCA nationals, it cost about 1,500 for my mom, dad, and I round trip.

Does anyone know when the next CL team is going to be announced?

The first team has been announced at 3pm EST for the last few days, so I'm thinking that's a pretty good bet.

PPV, ticket sales but if done correctly what about sponsorships? Theoretically if done correctly, you could charge very minimal on comp fee. Market this baby. If you build it they will come! Lol

The PPV market could work. But how much would you pay to watch 24 teams? Even if the cheer is really good you can get through 24 teams in 2 hours.

How much was it for The Majors? I can't remember...but I didn't watch last year, only the year before.

i saw on twitter that CU said it was a competition, and event. so i feel like there's something in addition to teams competing. i hope, at least.
