I really want to here in college...I'm in 9th grade and I am a back base:) I was wondering like what schools have a competition team and what shools a girl wouldn't have to be a flier at? Thanks!

Almost every college that competes takes girls that base and back! Most have an all girl squad and then a coed squad. :) Don't worry yourself! My favorite teams are OSU, Louisville, and University of Central Arkansas (but I'm fixing to go there anyways so I'm kind of biased ) There are teams everywhere! Don't worry though! You've got so long to decide! But beware, it's competitive and takes lots of time! Usually the schools that only take girls if they're flyers are non-competition squads like the University of Arkansas or something like that. Those schools are then based a lot on image instead.

There are actually a few schools such as Kentucky, UCF, LSU, and Tennessee that only have large coed squads, but there are many schools such as Memphis, Indiana, Louisville, Oklahoma State, Morehead State, and Hofstra that have either an all-girl team or a small coed team. Hope this helps!

I like that the guy in your avatar pic has a Wisconsin Badgers sweatshirt on. That's all, on Wisconsin!

I was a back in high school and I was definitely worried in high school that I couldn't cheer in college because I wasn't a flyer! But I learned I was super wrong, there are many great all girl programs. I cheered (and competed) in college as a back for 2 years, and it was so much fun.
I would ask what programs you're looking into, but that will probably change over the next four years you're in high school!
