I am pretty tall person (5'7) but i have t-rex syndrom.. my coach tries to make me back... but in extestion i cant reach my flier.. i have to base with people who are shorter with me.. or my base partner this year, she has a bad habit of having her llegs MILES aparts and arching her back.. we fit together that wway :) lol

I've always been the shorter base (i'm finally 5 2 maybe 5 3) I used to main at the height of 4 8.....

Anyway for the first time ever i was the taller base the other day...

I kept being WAY too tall... this is gonna take some getting used to...

I'm 4'10" and I've been basing my entire cheer career because I'm so muscular from gymnastics. This is my first year flying and I absolutely hate it! :(

I am the opposite. I am tall for a base. Im almost 5'8 and here are some tips.
1-Keep your legs together. It will make it easier for the taller base.
2- Im assuming your a main base so when you are doing libs dont push it over the side bases head. keep ot roght above your forehead.
Hope this helped!

I am about 5'5" and I based with a girl our height last year. We never really had any problems though, we just learned how to compensate for each other and make it work.

It seems like whenever I base, I'm shorter than the other base. I can't help it that I'm "fun sized". My coach last season made my 4'8 height aware to everyone by classifying me as a "midget". Some of the girls were very, very tall, at 5'6 and even 5'7. But does anyone whose short have problems basing because the other base if a different size?

I'm not short. I'm fun sized. I'm also not and arm rest (lol)

Thanks!

I'm 5'3 and I'm one of the best bases on my team, and most of the girls are very tall like 5'8 and they don't have to like squat awkwardly like a lot of tall bases do. I just stand up completely straight and shrug my shoulders

well this threads fun, i have been a short main/base, backspot and front, all of which i must say i compensated for quite well with my 'super stregth' my last year cheering i was the main base for the group stunt and i had 'the stunt is all mine syndrome' and would pull it over from my side base so it was just me and my backspot with the weight and my side would just stand there with hands placed ever so gingerly on the ankle. my first year cheering when i was a backspot my hands were always on wrists because i could never reach the full stunt but the stunt was always solid thanks the amazing main base.

I'm short too, and one time i based with a girl who was like 2 inches shorter and it was so weird...
I'm 5' 2" i think.

Btw, Love your name. We share it!

I'm only 4'10" & I'm always a main base. It's totally fine for me though the taller side bases just have to learn to widen their stance & squat a little, it's no big deal for me.
