Someone explain to me why uniform companies have not created a skirt that is attached to the undershort on the side seams. It would look just like a regular skirt on the outside (wouldn't work, obviously, for skirts that flare out, but many all star skirts don't) and it would never ride up. Perhaps I should patent this idea... But seriously, it seems like an easy solution, no?

You would think… I always sew my skirts at contact points along the seam to get them to stay down. For some this works, for others it can result in your skirt riding up and pulling your shorts along with it alllll the way up. Unless the attached shorts are a perfect firm fit it can be majorly disastrous.

from the outside our uniforms look like skirts.. but we have shorts/spankies attached underneath. no turning of te skirt because its attached, the skirt can possibly fly up but you can't see underwear you see shorts. as much as I wish I just had shorts, this sewn on skirtshort thing works very well

Cheer athletics has them? Skirt in the front. Shorts as the back.

Yep. I think that's what most people are talking about when they talk "skorts". I'm saying a normal skirt (all the way around) with an attached undershort AND the skirt attached on the side seams so that it cannot flip up (I know lots of teams currently have skirts with spanks attached at the waistband but the skirt can still flip up.)

Although I do think this is a brilliant idea, after thinking about it for awhile, I can see why companies dont do this. When doing anything with a split (sooo basically our entire sport :p) like a heal or scale, jumps, the skirt would awkwardly bunch up. Yes, the shorts would definitely help with the skirt moving, especially flipping up, short still bunch up and move in these actions. With the added material of the skirt that bunching would start to look/feel awkward and unflattering IMO

speaking of capris:

previously they had shorts

I have been converted, I now believe when done right and only when done right, they look clean and they are practical
