I agree with you. I think it was in the twinkle documentary that they talked about putting kids on older teams. If I remember correctly it was Mrs. Pascale who said that as a coach you are responsible for the cps emotional and social development as well (I am pretty sure that was what she said). I think its fine a line to walk. you have girls who have the level 5 skills (for example) and are only 12 years old but they have no teams to work those level 5 skills and its hard for a cp to be stunted in their activities. But as a parent, I would have to really think about putting my 12 year old on a team with 17 or 18 year olds but it really depends on the child.

I put my 12 year old on a sr5 team last season with many 17/18 year olds. I was a little nervous but I didn't want to hold her back when she had all the skills. Maybe we were lucky but they were the nicest group of kids! Her stunt group kids were the other younger ones on the team so she spent most of her time with them and there was another 13 year old so she wasn't all alone. Guess it really depends on the team.

And I hope no one considered her a "tiny" flyer because 4/5 of our flyers were all about the same height. I admit cp was a little smaller overall but she looked great in the air and threw everything in tumbling.

I hate the obsession with flyers. Whether they're big or small, it's really annoying that they're the ones who generally get blamed when their stunt has an issue.

I mean, of course, when a stunt comes down, it can be a flyer's fault. But not all bases and backspots are perfect. I have seen plenty of stunts come down that could've been easily saved by people underneath. But, it always appears that the flyer gets the blame.

I'm a small base, does that make me a fetus base? The flyer discussion is dumb...lets bring in the cats

I really do think it depends on the team. I have seen younger kids do really well on older teams and some who don't. It really depends on the team and on the kid. But I am so glad it work out for you and your cp!

I don't think it should ever be just CA - now that there is more than one, the location designation is necessary. But CA Plano (or even Dallas) and CA Austin would be great names.

I don't believe that other gyms with multiple locations use different names for each location. The gym is the same, the owners same, and are run on the same ideas, principals, goals and coaching techniques.

Just my opinion!!

When people "don't care" about competitions, some girls on my team said to me "I don't even care if we get last place" um well I do..

Yes! We had girls on our team that after the routine was over they would confess to me, how they didn't do there jumps the best the could to save their energy. Another girl said she didn't throw her tumbling and purposely walked slowly to her basket toss so she wouldn't have to base it and she could save her energy! Maybe you should just quit the team or not cheat yourself in practice! All they are doing is letting the team down. Sorry about the rant...

The flip side to that teams that have won so much and don't show excitement when they win
