Hey guys so im going to woodward for.the first time this sunday! Ive started to pack and was wondering if there is any suggestions/tips or anything I need to know about going to woodward. Like what are essential things to pack. Mostly just thingd you eish you knew when you wrnt to woodward for the first time. Thanks :)

An extension cord for your phone charger. You may or may not get a bunk right next to an outlet.
An extra pair of flip flops in case your pair breaks.
If you are used to a soft bed, foam "egg crate" to throw on top of the mattress. Those mattresses are like exercise mats.

I will ask cp what else she can think of. She will be there next week as well.

I'm going to Woodward for my first time this Sunday, too! It has been stressed by my coaches and friends that have been there before to make sure you are able to lock your suitcase/trunk. Every year, people get things taken from them, so locking your things up sounds like a great idea! Haha

DEF extension cord & foam mattress
*- Shower caddy - especially if you have the bunk that has to use the shower house
*- Non perishable/meltable snacks
- theme items for each day
- Sharpie(s) to label anything you forgot to at home
- white top to tie dye (CP brings 2)
- Regular clothes (not spanks & tank) for the Fri night dance - it's very casual
- bag to carry shoes, etc to/from gym - CP brings a cinch bag bc it's smaller
- long pants & tennis shoes if you plan on horseback riding
- more than 1 suit if you like to swim a lot & don't like to wear damp suits
- wipes to clean off shelves before you put your clothes & things on
- caddy to store your personal items easier (brush, sunscreen, etc)
- CP brings a white shirt for goal day. CP uses colorful sharpies to write goals on shirt. She likes to keep her shirts from year to year to see how far she's progressed.

The starred items are the most important. The others are just helpful hints.

You'll meet so many new friends & have a blast!

Very good point. CP's cabins both years have all unpacked & stored their things in the open cubby. (It's about 3' wide x 1 1/2' tall x 1 1/2' deep.) Nothing has gotten stolen yet.

However, CP does bring a cinch bag & keeps her phone in there at all times unless she's charging it. That's the only valuable item (besides her shoes) that she brings. CP is very small so it's unlikely many people can fit into her clothes or shoes.

We label EVERYTHING! I use both sharpie & brightly colored duct tape.

In our house we have the rule "if you aren't willing to lose it then don't bring it". Cell phones are the exception.

Exactly what @AlwaysLearning said about not bringing anything that you do not want to lose. If you have any cheer shirts or everyday clothes/shoes that are are important to you, do not bring them!

I send 3 towels - one for the pool and two for the shower.

Cp also buys the standard Woodward water squeeze bottle when she first gets there and then refills that with water all week.

When you get the Woodward water bottle you can refill if for free.

Ask for an empty one & write your name in Sharpie. Once it dries then have them fill it. Otherwise the marker doesn't stay on.

Everything everyone else said but check the weather before you pack! I was there with CP week 7 and had all the wrong clothes because it was unseasonably hot!!! Last time we went I remembered it being chilly at night and in the morning so I had yoga pants, and sweatshirts. I didn't touch any of it LOL!

Well my CP is packed and ready to go tomorrow morning at 6 AM. She is a JC this year and is so excited. G will be there week 9 and 10 so look for her and say hi! I love this camp, I know many have mixed feelings, but honestly it is a wonderful opportunity if you are able to go. But I have to say you will only get out of it what you put into it! My daughter has met so many people and made lasting friendships throughout the last four years. There is not one competition that we go to that she does not have to find a friend from camp and say hi. The coaches and instructors are great and I just cant say enough about the program. For everyone that will be there week 9 and 10 have a wonderful time and have fun!

After reading above i do have one recommendation, my daughter brings a rubbermaid tote box, you know the kind with the overlapping top. You are able to put a lock on it and all the valuable stuff is locked away. We have had a thing or two misplacedover the years (sure hope they were just misplaced  ).

I'm thinking we should start packing...maybe this afternoon ;)

I am going to woodward tomorrow and have put off packing untill tonight (bad i know) and i was just wondering what to bring to wear during the tumbling part. Can you wear nike pros and a sports bra or is it required to wear a shirt

You can wear Nike pros but your top has to be covered. Full tank tops or tshirts. You do get sweaty so bring extra clothing. ;)
