Haha wow, thanks for sharing that... holy rudeness. Just when I was mildly starting to respect him with his eloquently worded posts, I was wrong.

......*slow clap*

And this year's Darwin Award for tomfoolery on the internet is a complete landslide victory. We thought we had a tough race between a few misplace minors and our Captain of Foot Fetishes, but you can't beat selling yourself out on twitter. I'd like to thank the Board for NOT hosting the FBAs this year, as I prefer to sweep award ceremonies and this is ONE category I don't want to be nominated in. You've been a lovely audience this week. Thank you, and GOOD NIGHT!

i still agree with and respect orson.

i do have some confusion or questions about the OSU team. i don't follow many "cheerlebs" or kids in the industry, but i do follow well known teams' official twitters, including the "official" OSU cheerleading team. they have a twitter, vine, and instagram and have posted twerk videos (including one actually at practice where the entire program was twerking as their "warm-up" in the OSU gym in full OSU attire) now, i don't know who runs the account (i assume coach, but maybe it's an athlete, or a joint effort), but i find it strange that they so publicly were like look at us, we're twerking. i assume that they're all adults so i really haven't commented on its appropriateness... they can twerk all they want, but it sort of bothers me that the cheerleaders (who are usually the "faces" of the school and role models) are posting videos that are associated with the school team on purpose. it may come back to bite them or hurt their image. (i also know a handful of these kids are on T&S teams, as well, so does this policy include them? or just the minors? or is this a going-forward policy, college kids included?)

It is my understanding that the twerking videos on the official OSU social media accounts have been made to be removed. Not 100% sure but I was told that was the case. As far as any OSU kids or any other "adult" athletes that choose to call T&S their home, the ban applies to them as well. At the present moment, none of them are on a T&S team.

In tears over here Missy! No way I could ever see her doing that...LMAO
IIRC she's not particularly fond of it herself I think..

She's my mini me and before I say she would "never" do something I think back to when I was a kid and things I did and say........"Mini me might do anything" So I want people giving me the heads up!!! LOL

It would go something like this...***lil bits mind: "I'm twerking...I'm twerking...I want Chik Fil A...I'm tired...should i go running? I'm twerking I'm twerking...wait is mom working tonight? Maybe she will bring me OG? I'm twerking....Mom get me salad and breadsticks...what was I doing again?"

Add in......doughnuts and a sore body part and that about sums it up. LMAO

Hi everyone-

I'd really like to apologize for some of the tweets that were particularly rude. As much as I stressed the importance of being vigilant with security settings, I never got around to actually privatizing my own stuff, which was incredibly hypocritical of me. But, that's not even the bigger point--by mentioning some actual usernames, I came off as needlessly aggressive towards certain users, and in reality, the names that I mentioned weren't actually relevant in that I wasn't really having issues with those people. I guess I was trying to convey the self-admitted ridiculousness of the entire situation for people who weren't familiar with the situation, so I figured that using random "mom-related" usernames in conjunction with "twerking" would heighten the funny factor. I don't actually tweet regularly, and when I do, 99% of the people that I interact with are close friends, so when I'm on there, my general tone is considerably more cynical and sarcastic than it is just about everywhere else. Not trying to justify what I did, just trying to give you an idea of why I thought it was a good idea at the time.

My tweets were stupid and disrespectful; I understand that. To anyone I offended by using their usernames--I'm really sorry. I don't actually have anything against anyone here, I just thought the names were funny. I was wrong. I was stupid. I'm sorry.

i think we can all appreciate a meaningful apology :chestbump:

I'm honestly not trying to be offensive, but one of the main reasons for the perceived "bad rap" bc you disagree w/what's popular in society is bc it's still a contradiction w/what the Bible actually says and many people find that hypocritical. You (not just "you" specifically, but you in general) allow the makeup, the tight fitting clothes (even if only for one routine), any non-Christian music, etc. still goes against many of the main principles and/or tenets of Christianity. You simply cannot pick and choose what's ok for "you" according to the Bible, but not for these other Christians in accordance w/the same Bible.
I personally don't believe the Bible is open for a lot of interpretation. Despite mine and my husband's difference in beliefs than our families (his dad is a pastor and I grew up Southern Baptist and my mother grew up Pentecostal), I do see the example my father-in-law sets as one in accordance w/the Bible's word, tenets, etc. He won't listen to ANY music other than Christian music, he used to throw away his children's CD's when he found them, he wouldn't tolerate swearing, no cable in the house, not radio except Christian AM, etc, etc. Yet his heart is full of love and he is one of the most kindest, honorable, and respectable men I know and his heart is genuinely one of nothing but love. He is living by example they way the Bible says. It's not really "with the times" and religion evolves. Now it's ok for people to accept some parts and willingly disregard others. I think that's the problem that many people have bc they feel it's hypocritical.

I'm not judging you bc I don't believe that way and I don't know you from Harry...but I think if you honestly think about the things I've said, you will understand where I'm coming from in answering your rhetorical question. No one expects Christians to be perfect (at least not most people) simply bc you're Christians. It's the picking and choosing which parts you accept and which parts you disregard. I would have to imagine that Jesus wouldn't find cheerleading "acceptable" (on so many levels) or a beacon of showing his love and what he/Christianity is all about. Heck, my late granddaddy would have a heart attack bc of the makeup and uniforms alone! They weren't allowed to wear shorts. But anyway, I think it's perfectly within your rights to be as conservative as you see fit and for a gym to operate in any way they see fit and I admire anyone w/standing up for what they think is right and trying to show a good example, but I also admire the other gym/people anywhere else who choose to adhere to what they feel is acceptable for them. Finding the balance between the two is where I tend to see the most problems on the extremes of either side...If that makes sense. :)

I pray every day that the way I live my life and the way I allow my girls to live their lives is acceptable and honorable in the eyes of God. When I get to heaven and stand before God as we all will, I pray He stays well done my good and faithful servant. I don't believe cheer is dispicable in the eyes of God, at least not the way our gym trains. But you're right, maybe I've just convinced myself of that because its something we love to do. In any event, that is something I will answer to God for someday. I won't deny there are PARTS of our sport that make me cringe.

I will also say, however, that I do believe our gym has changed the lives of kids thru cheer. Kids have come to know Jesus thru our gym, kids have gotten off drugs and cleaned themselves up, kids have learned how to pray and understand the bible, kids have learned how to put God first in their lives...all thru the coaches at our gym. So I do believe cheer can and is an outlet to reach children, in both good and bad ways.

They will not pull up a vine video of you twerking to deny you admittance into grad school, and they shouldn't do it for a job either. What you do in your personal life IS and ALWAYS should be separate from you work life. They are two completely different things.
I will not even set up an interview with a candidate without checking all social media. Then during an interview, I ask questions regarding things they have posted, pictures, etc. if I get a red flag from anything. Once hired, I have suggested some remove questionable items. Might not be fair, but its my right to protect my schools image. If they put it for the world to see they must know I'm going to see it also. Even the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders release candidates for poor social media choices. Why shouldn't I be as selective choosing an adult to educate people's children? Teachers spend more time alone with kids than a lot of parents do each day. And If it has EVER been put on the Internet, I can almost always find it. Just because you delete it doesn't mean it's gone.
