your missing the point of the legacy and the tradition that follows with being a large all girl team. they have been in large for how many years. since my first year at worlds they were large and that was like 05. they were amazing then and they will eb amazing now but i just hate that they changed the tradition.

Lady Jags, F5, Rays (peach, right?), Aces...

Ugh I just don't know what to do with myself anymore.

My dilemma now is...who do i root for? aces or f5. they are both fabulous. i already see a hard decision for worlds 2014...

um...what about deciding when you see routines first? or do you pick your favorites by people on the team or something?

Not that it's any of my business, but just wondering you said some Reign girls did not return. Where other gyms would they go to?

Originally you were either small, 20 and under, or large 21 and over ppl had issue with that and thought it unfair for big gyms (like twisters) who could put 36 kids on the floor to be up against teams who may only have 25-30 kids. What is so unfair about large programs (like Twisters) who choose a division other than large? Better yet why is it ok for some large programs to have large level 5 teams while others can be small or medium? It seems as though fans have gotten a little overzealous believing that they have the right to hold a program to a particular division for their own personal enjoyment. This is completely unfair and unrealistic. Every year each program graduates athletes, losses athletes dues to other interests, and gains new athletes which obviously dictates the selection process for the upcoming season. Regardless of "Tradition" every gym owner and coach has to right to strategize when selecting divisions for the new season to give their athletes a fair shot at achieving success especially since the tradition factor is theirs and not anyone else's.

A great a example of this theory would be Cheer Athletics! In my opinion they are the epitome of what are large gym/business should be yet they haven't remained traditional to divisions that have made their program famous. The CA Jags were NCA champions 7 years in row making them the most decorated Large Junior team in all star history. After they fell short of number 8 they decided to revamp and choose another division. The same can be said about CA Panthers who have been NCA champions 9 times and World Champions 2 times in the Large Senior division yet they've competed as a small team (World Champions 2011), moving on to medium (World Champions 2012), and now only having returned to the Large Senior for one season (Bronze Medalist). So is it ok for them but not for Twisters? The Stingrays All Stars have been a large program winning the Small Senior division at The Cheerleading Worlds a precedented 6 times yet this upcoming season will only be the second season they've had a large senior team and that's fine? ACE Cheer Company, California All Stars, Charlotte All Stars, East Celebrity Elite, Fame All Stars, Gym Tyme All Stars, ICE All Stars, Texas Lonestar Cheer Company, Top Gun All Stars, and Woodlands Elite are large programs who could field a large senior team yet they don't. Should the be required just because they have the numbers to do so? I think not!

At the end of the day division selection is up to the gym owners and coaches who run the programs. In today's world of rubrics and quantity scoring all star competition has developed so greatly that it requires more than just "Numbers" to field a competitive team than it used to many years. Division changes should be expected and as spectators we need to stop acting like cheerleading is Hollywood. Enjoy the performances for what they are and not for the creation of rivalries & hoopla! The Maryland Twisters F5 have been a large senior team for 15 years faithfully watching many other large gyms change divisions over the years to suit their needs. Now it's time for them to do the same and you can bet your last dollar that they'll still pack a punch, still be fierce as ever, and still rise to the occasion!

As sad as I am to see them leave large, I'm probably more excited because my "lg sr ulcer" (as I like to call it) will be reduced to stressing over two teams (babs and stars) instead of three. Having f5 in a different division makes me think of when they were in lg sr open and stars and babs were in lg sr pre-worlds, way back when nca was the end all be all. F5 has and always will be my favorite team, but being in the separate divisions allows me to enjoy babs and stars and not stress while doing so.

So, selfishly, I'm glad. I will miss them, in large but I have faith they'll be back. And I can't wait to see reign and wg! I'm feeling a good year for twisters!!!

But weather girls is gone so there's reign and F5 left at the glen burnie gym and a small 5 at the Waldorf so they placed girls from weather girls onto either reign or F5

Weather Girls are not gone. They are small senior this season in Glen Burnie.

i doubt f5 will stay medium forever, they just happened to lose alot of girls do to aging out. and i know that a few former reign girls, joined F5 according to twitter.. it happens, im excited to see them compete against other teams, get some more

so i saw a pic floating around twitter, of what looks like the new F5 team, and counting heads it looks to me like there are only 26 girls this year. whats the max number for medium senior?
