One school doing it is reason enough to mention. I hardly think my 11 year old knows where she is going to apply for grad school. Same goes for high school kids. I'd hate for them to find out in college that those videos they made senior year are keeping them from their dream school. Sure, right now they're thinking "Pffffffft. A religious school? No way! I can't wait to get outta here and be freeeeeee!" Five years from now they may feel very differently. The whole point is that sometimes kids don't realize that their actions have more far-reaching consequences than they are equipped to realize in their youth.

Furthermore, your reply to the other posts was ridiculous. Way too condescending. Having a master's degree doesn't make you an authority on admissions - or anything else for that matter. It MIGHT (notice capitalization indicating emphasis on might) make you an authority on whatever your master's is in, but that's it - and even that is questionable.

I apologize - I certainly don't have a master's degree; I'm still working on a lowly bachelor's degree. But even I know the difference in effect and affect. (Normally I wouldn't care, but if you're going to come on here and basically call everyone an idiot, then your post had better be PERFECT and ERROR FREE)

You know, there are times when you really do make me lol. :shimmy:

Are you just the same person with a different username? I'm checking my 'condescending poster response meter', and my allocation for the month is starting to tap out with 5 days left to go. I'd like to prepare my quotas for the rest of the summer, and if I need to divide my Sass between the two of you, I'd like to know ahead of time. :D

Also- I don't know about anyone else in this thread, but I much prefer multi-quote. Coming onto a thread and realizing the last 6 posts are from the same person individually responding gives the same feeling as wasting paper in real life. Granted, you can't waste the internet (Or can you!?!?), but all the same.

I used to multi-quote a lot but I don't anymore bc I noticed that people tend to not a response to their reply and/or I didn't expect to reply that much in a thread.

And yes, I actually think he is. His posting style is very similar to another poster who was a music producer who used to get bent out of shape all the time and go on tirades. I don't think he uses that AE anymore (if it is actually him).

I would love to see Grumpy Cheer Cat to twerk. But not sure it would be appropriate.
After reading this whole thread, i deserve to see GCC twerk ;-)

GCC just retweeted this...it's close enough, right?

I can't handle the cute-ness.

I am really not a fan of twerking (but then I am 26 years old and when my friends and I walk into a club we always have the reaction that we are wearing far too much fabric to be there but I digress). I believe that the dance is inappropriate for young girls to do and especially to post. Once something is out on the internet its out there forever and then young girls ask why people think certain things about them. Lets face it perception is people's reality and once people's minds are made up its hard to change them. When I was growing up, my parents taught me that people will always judge and talk so if you do something in a public forum be prepared for the consequences and I think that a lot of these girls don't realize what they are doing when they post these videos.

For the gyms that prohibit the twerking videos or have good conduct policies, I believe that they have the right to set whatever policies they want within reason. If your social media is full of things of about your gym and you are in a sense of representing your gym on social media, then they should have the right to post things that would reflect poorly on their business.

In terms of the affect on jobs, people are naive if they think that what they post won't impact their jobs. I have recently rejoined the work force and was offered three different position within companies and in all of the contracts they had good conduct policies in terms of what employees could post on the internet and they would deem it a firable offence if we were to post things that they would deem damaging to their business including twerking/ inappropriate dance videos, drinking photos or smoking photos etc. Yes, social media should be private but nothing on the internet is private and a lot of business is done through social media so I believe that people should learn at early age to be responsible

I not only replied to something you typed, I actually quoted what you typed. So basically you were rude to me because others weren't playing by your rules even though I was. Fine.

The Fierce Board! Where one day you're in and the next day you're talked about.
I'm aware. I still don't believe I was being rude. I know you replied to what I typed. The second half of that response to CheerDad I was referring to the other people posting, not you.
