Needle And Flying

I almost have a needle and i just cant straighten my leg all the way. And im 130 pounds and i want to be a flyer. Ive flown before and ive done good but idk if i possibly can be One. ANd i stand on my left leg and pull my (almost) needle is this right??

Most gyms stand on their right leg and pull body positions on their left leg, so work on your left leg scorpion especially. There's a lot of evidence that stretching one side and not the other can seriously damage your back and cause all sorts of other problems. Talk to your coaches about flying and let them know you are interested. Most of the time it all depends on how many flyers are on your team and what groups work well together. If you really want to fly, work hard and show your coaches how bad you want it, but also don't be upset if you end up basing or backing because all positions are equally as important and versatility is becoming ever-so-important in cheer nowadays! It takes a lot more to fly than a needle. Don't be disappointed if your flexibility alone doesn't get you a flying spot.
