All-Star Stunt Stand..worth It? Yes Or No...

We have two stunt stands that have helped the girls tremendously. Another thing that helps for the girls that like to "hula dance" is the Wii fit tight rope walk. It forces you to balance and learn to hold your belly button over your toes with good posture.

I broke down and bought 1 for my CP in August. I was SO against it at first. We have a bosu ball & our gym has several homemade stands so I really didn't think the stunt stand would differ that much...I was wrong! Her body positions have improved tremendously. If you don't have your body in the proper positions there is no way to stay on, you will fall. She is now able to tell exactly the mistakes she makes. When she falls she immediately knows what to correct. I personally have seen lots of improvement in my CP's flying. I also think the price is ridiculous, even $300 would make more sense.

thank you for sharing your personal experience. helpful.

Our gym builds our own. 2x10 base about 12inx12in, about a two inch metal pipe and the sleeve to sit it in that is about a 18in long attached to about a 8in long 2x4 with sanded corners and rounded over and the front. Voila. All available at Lowes or home depot. Plus when they're done the kids can paint them up and do whatever the like to personalize them. Our coaches built one for my cp years ago when she flew and she painted it pink and green and painted her name on it with sparkly paint. It was a fun little craft project. She's since given it to another flyer to use at home. They use them in practice (there's about 8 of them at the gym) when they work with the flyers individually.
Thanks for the dimensions!!! Going to send the hubby to Lowe's right now! I liked the stunt stand but about had a heart attack when I saw the price tag!!!

I find standing on a couch or standing on 3 cans is the same thing!

I just think the stunt stand is too expensive.
since a bunch of 'cheerlebritys' use it we all feel the need to have it(nothing against people that do)
but I'd rather go to the gym and stunt instead of having something that's like it!
just my opinion!

I will agree that nothing can replace actually stunting with a group. The things I have heard and seen from experienced coaches with many many years of experience and resumes that go on for days I have to listen. The things I have read and heard about the pedestal just seem to be amazing! For the price compared to most it just seems to be a bargain!

Thinking of getting N a stunt stand. It is quite the investment. Is it worth it...
If money is not an issue go right ahead. I almost purchased one because my daughter friend had one a local gym had a parent that made a cheaper alternative. My daughter uses it quite well.

No. A brick or an unopened soda can or two would provide the same effect. Those require slightly less investment.

Besides, flyers are not really supposed to balance themselves when they are in a stunt (at least not in the way that this type of drill would reinforce.)

My CP was there for SuperCAmp the last two years, she is always talking about the spinning half balls with a disk like platform on top...she said it looked kind of like a bosu ball but totally different material. Can you tell me what those are and where to get one?? Thanks
