I'm a new cheerleader, and because of the lack of athletes at my gym, I'm on a level 3 team. I'm doing pretty well (except for tumbling) but I always have to have my stunt group explain to me what will go on in our stunts. Can anyone fill me in on stunt vocab? It's really embarrassing to never know what's going on! If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Half/prep: bases hands are by their chest/throats. FLyer is on both legs.
Full/Extension: bases arms are extended completely in air. FLyer is on both legs.
Lib: Main base in same position as extension. Side/secondary base has hands cupped in a 'hamburger' shape around the same foot the main base holds. Flyer is on one leg, and bends the other leg so that the foot is at their knee.

Stunt positions:
Heel Stretch: Same as lib, but flyer holds foot in air
Arabesque: same a lib, but stunt is turned sideways. Flyer's leg is extended behind them with a slight lean forward at the chest.
Bow and arrow: same as lib, but flyer holds their foot with the opposite arm. other arm is place in front of leg to make the shape of a bow and arrow set.
Scorpion: same as lib, but flyer holds foot behind their head
Scale: same as lib, but stunt is turned sideways and flyer holds anywhere from the shin to ankle as straightens her leg as much as possible.

These, of course, are not all of the stunting terms/possibilities, but these should be the most common ones you need to know. Sorry if i forgot anything!

it would help for you to look up these stunts on youtube so you can visually see it! some of my explantions are a litle rough.... good luck!!
