So, twitter is all atweet with rumors of a "prom" at Champions League. I think that CEA does one already so the kids that miss their own because of practicing for Worlds, etc. don't miss out. I think it's a great idea for these kids to have a chance to socialize with their peers outside of the competition, but I'm thinking it's putting a lot of stress on the girls to find an escort. Heck they're outnumbered like 20:1. What does everyone think about this and do you have ideas for a social gathering that's not so "couple" oriented.

Nothing says kids would have to attend as couples. Just a dance in general would probably be a fun time and hopefully more controlled and supervised than say the Worlds Block Party.

That brings up another thing. Is it ONLY CL athletes allowed attending prom? or can the athletes bring a date that is either a spectator/from a non-cl team/a person has nothing to do w/ cheer :s

I can't speak to the Champions League but at our Prom some kids bring their boyfriends/girlfriends. Some of the Coed kids went with SE girls. Some of the Coed kids went with each other. Kids come alone........(but not really alone because once you get there your whole team is there so..............lol.............) For anyone that want's to see what our Prom's look like. The kids have a blast and it's a nice event for them where they can dress up, look gorgeous/handsome and blow off the steam of the season with each other. It's 1 of the highlights of their season. And the great thing about having Prom with 80 cheerleaders is..you can see in the video......they aren't afraid to dance. LOL Definitely 1 of the highlights of my CP's season every year. I don't feel like kids will need an escort to the Champions League thing.

More info on the event from CheerUpdates:
On April 4th, there will be two events, "Champions League Shoot out where each team picks two areas to compete in (event style.)" and the "Champions In Training, Open to all Junior 5 teams, ALL divisions head to head."

so.. are they ever going to have an official website with all of the info in one place? or am i supposed to rely solely on tweets from CU?

i know what he is tweeting is correct info, but i'd rather just read a document than bits and pieces of 140 characters of info that's chopped up and released randomly. especially if i were to spend money on spectating.

EDIT: lol literally spoke a second too soon thechampionsleague.com

Copied and Pasted from the website:
What is the Champions League?
The Champions League is a select group of up to 30 teams that represent a tradition of past, present and future excellence in Level 5 Cheerleading that have decided to come together to host a competition of epic proportions. Not only will the teams compete across all divisions, but they will compete across several formats including all girl versus coed and have 1 overall grand champion. There will also be opportunities for teams not originally included to earn their way into the League. The bottom teams each year will be subject to attrition to allow for new teams to rise up and take their place.

When and where is the Champions League?
The 2014 Champions League event will be held April 5-6, 2014 in Atlanta, GA.

Will the Champions League always be held in the same city?
The plan for the Champions League Finals is to move each season to a different US City to enable everyone across the country an opportunity to watch the Champions League.

When will spectator information be available/ how do we get tickets?
As ticketing information becomes available, we will pass it along.

Who makes up the decision makers of the Champions League?
The Decision Makers of the Champions League are the League members themselves. Each team in the league gets 1 vote. Each year as the teams in the League change, the Decisions Makers will change as well. League decisions are made by the gym owners involved.
One team = one vote.

How will the Wild Cards be selected from the League?
TBD. Spots in the Champions League will be filled with teams advancing from the wildcard round until there are a total of 30 teams competing in the Champions League.

What selection criteria for invitation?
2014 League members were selected based on a combination of the following factors:
A) A culmination of the last decade of competitive success at events such as but not limited to NCA, Worlds, SuperNationals, and recent competition success.
B) Historical ability to attract a "fan base" from outside the respective team's organization

What is the competition format? How will the teams be divided up for competition?
Teams will compete for the following honors:
Champion of the All Girl teams, Champion of the Coed teams, Grand Champion of the League
In addition the average score of all the coed teams will be tallied to compare with the average score of the all girl league teams. The "team" with the highest average will be crowned each season.
Lastly, fan voting both present and via cheer updates will derive the specialty awards: Best Uniform, Best Dance, Best Makeup, Best Tumbling, Best Stunt Sequence, Best Pyramid, Best Technique, Best Jump Section, Best Performance, Etc.

What scoring system will be used, and how will this translate to determine a finite winner (given the teams are all of different sizes)?
This will be decided upon and voted on by the league members.

What is the structure of the Champions League?
The league will max out at 30 teams each season. The lowest scoring 5 teams will be up for re-evaluation and are subject to replacement by new teams each season. In addition to league ranking, a team's entire season will be considered. After the inaugural season, a system for replenishing the league ensuring the best of the best each season will be developed.

What is the prize?
TBD. This will be decided upon and voted on by the league members.

Who Will Produce the Event?
The League has voted to select Tammy Van Vleet with Golden State Spirit Association and The Aloha Spirit Productions as the event producer for the 2014 Champions League.
