Thanks! I figured most things would be typed - just curious! One other question though. Do most people take notes on their laptops in college? I would prefer to do this as I can type waaay faster than I can write. But in my college's freshman facebook group someone asked and people were like "Oh, I'm just gonna use pen and paper." I'm like uhhhh I'll be the one begging the professor to go back a slide because I didn't finish writing everything down.

Like I understand that physically writing things out makes you memorize/understand it better (it does for me at least) but that's how I'll study for tests and things. Type out my own notes and then copy them into a notebook to reinforce it all.
I try to write my notes and type them when I'm studying (opposite of you!) but I know a lot of people who type their notes and it works fine! A lot of professors post slides online as well.

Good, thank you! A few of my teachers in high school would post them online and that was always helpful.

If it's a class like history or biology or something with heavy note taking then I'll take my macbook and type it...but if it's something like math that is difficult to type symbols and stuff I'll hand write it out!

Also- this method for decorating binders is super cute!!!

I never bring my laptop to class. Partly because I'm lazy and don't want to carry it around (even though it's super light), but mostly I know I'll get even more distracted by it. And I seem to remember things more when I write them down.

Most people in my classes last year used pen & paper to take notes.

I was a college freshman 10 years ago. We had laptops and all of the amenities college students have now except tablets and iPhones. However we still managed to take notes by hand much like our college ancestors before us and we all managed.

I was like you and too lazy to bring my laptop to class. It baffles me to hear people "nowadays" act like taking notes by hand is an impossible feat lol

I wouldn't say it's an impossible feat, it's just easier (for me) to keep up with what the teacher is saying because I can type fast. If I had to write everything down, I'd always be writing a few words behind what the teacher was saying because I write slower.

All of our notes in school (undergrad and grad) were available on blackboard...which to me is (was) too much hand holding and coddling; but I digress. I'm also one of those millennial elitist that thinks anyone born after 1985 is babied in general.

However one of my professors taught us my freshman . That under no circumstance will you ever need to write down more than like 20% of what is said in lecture and to just follow the outline.

Just keep in mind that some teachers won't allow laptops in their class. I've had a few who won't allow them because they're afraid students will just go on Facebook or play games instead of taking notes.

I go to a community college and I use my laptop in every class. Only for Facebook and Fierceboard. I take notes by hand which is rare. I managed a 3.89 this semester playing on my laptop during class. That is how easy the assignments and tests were for me. Not sure if this answers your question or not :p

Ok, last week I was nominated for an Awesome Coach award. If anyone has a second, can you go and vote? You just have to put in name and email and vote, so it's quick! I'm super excited, even though I'm against a ton of other coaches that are from big name places in town, but you never know! I reward in shimmies and I'll be forever grateful. :)
