i would have a good feeling that the coaches and gym owners know a whole lot more info then we do to agree to all these new competitions all of a sudden for their season. however i have yet to hear or see anything about there being any reward other then cash, if these teams still plan on going to worlds in 2014, where the heck are they going to get their bid from. cause so far, Revolution and Champions league offer no bids. and i would imagine in order to attend both, the teams will have to give up at least one if not two regular season comps. to attend these.

I may be alone when I say this...but I'm kind of already over these types of events. I understand they are trying to do something different and are trying to help evolve our sport...I get that. However, seeing the same teams invited over and over to the same events seems somewhat pointless to me. Yes I understand that all of them are insanely talented and all are the leading teams in our industry but it would be nice to see other teams with insane talent get invited too. NJSE Fab 5? ECE? Brandon? PCM? etc. I just sort of feel that other teams get left out of the mix. I'm not trying to offend anyone at all...This is just strictly my own honest opinion.
I completely agree, although ECE and Brandon are both apart of the CL.
To me, this falls back to the D1/D2 argument, half the people that were arguing for the split are also the ones happy at the exclusivity of these types of events...

Cheer Updates twitter. Sorry I can't post pics from the app, but if you go back through his @ replies from last night he mentions it a few times

Well that might make it a little better but I'm still gonna have to put a kidney on eBay and bribe the school truancy officer.

Oops yes sorry you're right I had forgotten about Brandon and ECE. I guess you're right pleasing everyone won't realistically happen...I would just like to see some other talented teams as well. Oh well.

I completely agree. I think it would be cool to see a couple of well known teams that haven't necessarily won worlds/medaled but have come close a couple of times and are always contenders.

I'm not quite sure I'm sure I'm ready to say "I'm over these type of events" only because it is something different but at the end of the day these are all cheerleading competitions. The requirements may be differ from the majority of competitions but teams compete a routine and the best team is supposed to win. The only thing I could say is perhaps adding "different" teams to these type of events just to keep it fresh but clearly the same teams that are getting picked are typically fan favorites. I wonder if there will be a clear standout between the 3 invite competitions?!?

Why would they ban them?

Because don't they already have some type of rule that you can't compete in any other "worlds" event? I could be dreaming but I swear I saw thay when the majors first came out and everyone was stressing. I could see them doing anything to make people think twice about going to these other comps that are offering a product that is directly competing for their business.

Sigh...sorry for the double post but the app won't let me edit.

Does anyone know what this event actually is? This venue is very weird for a cheer comp so I'm confused still.

Yes they did but it was geared toward the International contests I can't remember off the top of my head which 2 it was. 1 was supported by Varsity and the other was a branch off from another entity. Sorry I can't remember the more specifics.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I just don't think this would be a huge leap from that if these alternatives become as big a deal as they could.

I agree with you.........I could definitely see Varsity trying to show their muscles by threatening to black ball teams so to speak. As a matter of fact, it wouldn't surprise me at all and that's sad.
