I got my back handspring back in October and ever since then it has always been off and on. Its either lands or I flop on my stomach. This is the tumbling skill that's becoming really frustrating. I try all the conditioning that my coaches give me but nothings helping. I have tryouts in a month and have to get this skill perfect. How can i get a better bhs?

Whenever I do a Back Handspring, I always focus on pointing my toes. This causes me to jump as hard as I can which makes blocking a lot easier. If you have a video than that would help a lot.

When u jump your arms need to be tight by your ears, you think jump into an arched position and then when your hands hit the ground u hollow out and snap down hard. Always try to rebound out of it because that will make you jump more and become more powerful. If you think point your toes than your legs will stay straight.

If you're flopping on to your stomach make sure your arms are locked out. Also get your arms close to your ears.

If you're flopping, you probably aren't using your shoulders. Pop them when your hands hit, and snap down your legs.
