When a flyer consistantly can't stay up at practice, so the coaches threaten to replace them if they don't stay up on the last try. They stay up one time so they stay in. Happens over and over again. The flyer is on the ground 90% of the time. At competition, she comes down and can't stay up. So, my pet peeve would be the empty threats made by coaches. The coaches lose their credibility with the other girls when they do this and morale plummets.

Say what you mean and mean what you say. If you're not going to follow through, don't even bother saying it.

When the best and strongest bases are with the tiny and always great flyers. I feel that the best bases should be with the new flyers so they can get comfortable with it better
When my cp was complaining a few weeks ago about having a new flyer who didn't know what she was doing yet and how their stunt didn't hit, I told her to take it a compliment from her coach.

I am finally putting my issue to rest with this. I am not giving her another chance, she is hurting herself and the bases.... BUT This is so her! And I am so done!!! The difference, she stays up at competition, but she is just too much dead weight for the bases to be able to run the stunt full out more then 3 times ever.

When (in All-Star) non-committed athletes join the competitive team for the title and 'popularity' when really they only want to do the work of a rec team. Then they hardly show up for practice and when they do they don't work- wasting my money since it's a team sport.

And when the smallest girls who cant stay up in the air (like scskgl siad) get put up in the stunt since they're fetuses and the girls who stretch and work for it are ground bound because they're a bit taller or meatier than the girls who are 5 foot and 90 pounds.

YES! Drives me nuts when all the power bases are in the same group(s) (of course with the most experienced flyer usually) and all the newer people are in groups together. Share the wealth! One experienced leader in a group can move a group from rookies to strong so much faster than ALL new bases. It seems to make more sense to have all strong groups instead of 1 or 2 power groups that can do anything with the rest struggling to hit minimum level requirements. Jmo...

This drives me crazy too!! Last year cp made our sr5 team. There were 3 rookies on the team and 17 veterans. All 3 rookies were put in the same stunt group with a veteran who had flown mostly so was somewhat new to basing. I will admit that cp was the smallest flyer, but I just could not understand why they put all the rookies together. It all worked out eventually but that group had to work so much harder and they put in a lot of extra stunt group practice so they wouldn't be the weak group. I was so proud of those girls but really think mixing them up a little with the veterans would have worked for everyone.

I was one of the ones in a strong stunt group and sometimes, it just works so much better that way. When we tried to switch out people to "share the wealth" it didn't go as smoothly. It was so worth it to just keep it the best, always hitting way. So yes, I see your point, but I definitely think every situation is different.
