All-Star Prep Teams

I'm sure this has been posted before but I couldn't find it. I want to know how people usually organize and what they charge for a prep team in their gym? I'm thinking of adding one to my gym and am not sure exactly how it works... Any tips would be great!!

at my small gym our we just had one big tryout then decided that one of our teams would go prep. 2 min routine, no baskets in level 2.
I know some other gyms have a separate tryout for their prep teams

Our gym has tryouts in January for the half year teams, after youth league, middle school and JV cheer has finished. I don't remember what they paid per month last year but I believe they went to 2-3 local competitions. Their uniforms were sublimated tanks and shorts which complemented the full year teams' warmups and ran about $100.
