I want to start a incentive program for my competition cheerleaders. Here is what I was thinking: as they build their skills, they get different colored strips of tape to attach (wrap around) the strings of their shoes. The strips wouldn't be more than a cm or so wide so they can attach multiple strips. Each skill would be a different color. For example, an individual receives a red strip for BHS, yellow for BT, and then they can also receive strips as a stunt group when they get a full up, etc. I also want to give strips for other things like leadership, attitude, etc. So is this a silly idea? Or how could I tweak it?

I like the idea, but I don't know about putting them on their shoe laces. I did something similar with a progression checklist and stars. I allowed them to trade in stars to get out of a set amount of conditioning. For example, if you traded in 10 stars then you could get out of 10 v-ups. The awesome thing is they at first took advantage of getting out of conditioning, now they still want to put their stars on their charts but most have opted to do the conditioning and not trade in stars.
