I didn't really like the idea THAT much because the kid had to give the trophy to the next kid that got the trophy, but we used to have a big trophy for certain skills (E.g. Full trophy, Layout trophy etc) and when the kid got the skill they'd have their picture taken with the trophy & have it put up on the gym website/facebook and they got to keep the trophy at home with them until the next person got the skill & they'd pass it on.

Tbh this only really worked because we were a small enough gym and didn't have kids getting layouts and tucks every other day so the trophy wasnt going everywhere and anywhere three times a week!

A high school team in my area (this was 5+ years ago) used to get shirts when they competed certain new skills. The full t-shirt said on the front "I'm not just FULL of it" the back said "I spin to win." and the standing back shirt said "I talk a lot" on the front and "cause I can BACK it up." on the back. I always loved them and wished I cheered there and when I competed my standing back (after coming back from knee surgery and retiring from the skill for a couple years) at college nationals and won my friend gave me her standingback shirt with my national championship jacket! I might appreciate that tshirt more than my ring and jacket!

my old gym does these for level testing theres supposed to be five but i think only four had been made when they took the picture (back of the bracelets says lions)

When someone at Madtown gets a new skill, someone will shout out their name, and then everyone in the gym stops and yells "Awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome." Everyone watches, and they do it again. :)

I have always liked the idea of doing the livestrong like bracelets. My only question is do athletes still wear these? I use to see them around like crazy but now I rarely do but we also don't let them wear those at practice so this could be why I do not see them. So do athletes still wear these things?

i would personally if they were from my gym or some place i find important

What gym is it where they ring a bell if they get a new skill? World Cup?

When I was a gymnast, we had a giant list of skills/the 9.0 club. If you got a new skill, you could add a star sticker under your name and skill. If you got a 9.0 at a meet, you'd get a certificate posted on the big garage door that listed your name, the event, and the meet.

Spirit explosion does ring the bell

For my teams this season we gave them all individual goals as well as stunt group goals and other random goals. When they achieve it they get a bead (a star shape as our gym is Rising Stars) and they can put it on their shoe so everyone can see how many goals they've achieved. The person with the most beads at the end of the season will get a prize (custom tshirt or something). They've responded pretty well to this & it only cost me about £3!

I love this idea! Possibly a strange question, but how big are the beads you buy? I'm looking at some online now but I'm not sure what size mm the hole needs to be to fit on the shoelace!
