Madeline finished with Radiation a few weeks ago and she started Chemo today. She just celebrated her 16th birthday yesterday. Please continue to keep her in your prayers as well as the countless others that are affected by this disease. CANCER SUCKS!!!!

i had to post because i just came across this message on twitter

It made me so sad to read these bad news :( Keep on fighting Madeline!!

Very, very sad to hear of Madeline' s passing today. My thoughts and prayers go out to her friends and family. RIP Madeline

S0 sad to hear of her passing :( At least she's no longer fighting. Prayers to those whose lives she touched. RIP Madeline.

I didn't even know her and I'm crying. I feel like there is so much that we take for granted that we should be appreciative for. I hope that the McTier family and her friends can get through this. 21B1H <3 RIP Madeline you've reached a lot of hearts with your story.

I was coming home just to eat between classes and the last song I listened to before parking was Thunderbirds worlds 2012 music. I checked twitter and read of her passing. I actually cried right there at the table. Funny how god gives those little signs. Sending so many prayers to those around her.

Is it irrational to cry over someone you never met? Hope not, cause I did. Bless their whole family. She fought for so hard and so long, they had an amazing kid. Rest well, Madeline and enjoy that amazing team in heaven! What I wouldn't give to see you all compete!

I didn't get a chance to meet Madeline in person. But, like many of you, got to "know" her over the past year through her social media posts. Also got to hear about her struggles and victories from some of her coaches and friends.

What a wonderful little girl she truly was. Her death is heartbreaking, but I will always remember her strength and persistence.

God bless her, the McTier family and her Thunderbird teammates.
