So, I am a less experienced base, and my flyer isn't the best flyer. Whenever we stunt, she complains about me rolling her ankle. Her ankle is rolling, and I am doing everything in my power to set it right. I am almost holding her foot the opposite way, but she stands on only one side of it. Also, my flyer puts ALL of her weight in her heels. I have an extra bone in the wrist that supports her heel, so it hurts a lot. My wrist has been swollen for multiple days because of the issue. Is there any way to politely tell her to please fix it? She is more experienced than me, and I don't want to sound rude or ignorant. Thanks for any help!

If her ankle is rolling it's definitely her fault! More experienced or not, you need to let her know that she can't keep blaming you for having weak ankles.

If she lifts her toes up to the top of her trainers it should help lock out her ankles, also if it's that bad it may help if she wears a tight ankle support, buys shoes with more support up the back or some kind of posture correcting insole.

Don't let her make you feel bad!

The best thing you physically can do is to squeeze her ankle as tight as you can! This will help keep her ankle stable. Also you could suggest she gets an ankle brace. Like: "Have you ever tried an ankle brace, I've heard it may help with you rolling your ankle"

Maybe a polite way of explaining this to your flyer is through a coach. Maybe if you can get them to come over and take a closer look at the stunt, they can address the issue, rather than you having to risk potential disagreements on where the fault lies.

Maybe you could suggest the backspot grab lower and tighter on her ankle? See if that helps! My flyer has weak ankles and that always helps stabilize it as a backspot!

Here is a thread with a number of suggestions. Cheer - Ankle Brace Suggestions | Fierce Board - The Voice Of Cheer

My CP is flying in college now on her 14th year and the ASO brace is the one she liked the most and still uses.

Do you know if these fit inside Nfinity shoes? Mine are quite snug and the brace looks a little bulky. Also how have her backspots felt about the brace? Mine usually complain if I'm wearing even a thin tube support but I'm definitely interested in the ASO brace!

I never heard of any of her back spots complaining and it was snug, but she was able to fit the brace under her shoe.

I am a flyer and I have this problem. I tape my ankles and that helps a lot.

Whenever we have issues with a stunt and we don't feel comfortable bringing it up with the person, we ask our coach to come watch the stunt and tell us what's wrong with it. If they don't catch it and fix the problem, other girls will be interested in what is going on and they will try to help.

It is definitely your flyer's fault and not yours, and you should tell her that! Don't be afraid to make corrections in a stunt, less experienced or not. It is EVERYONE'S job to make sure the stunt hits!

Are you a main or side base?
If you are a side base try gripping higher up on the foot with your top hand, closer to the ankle and squeezing in near the ankle joint.
If you are the main base, suggest that your side base do this. Also, as a main base, make sure that your wrists are as close to your side base's hand as possible and you are providing a stable standing surface for the flyer.
Also, I wouldn't really suggest taping a flyer's ankles for the sole purpose of keeping them from rolling in a stunt, it will only allow them to remain weak. Maybe talk to your coach about doing ankle strengthening exercises, such as toe raises, ect,...
AND REMEMBER: It never any one person's fault when it comes to a stunt hitting. You all have to learn how to work together to make it happen. Teamwork makes the dream work! ;)
