If your 16/17 yr old cheer princess was dating a team mate over the age of 18, would you allow the boyfriend to move into your home? Why or why not?

I would not, kind of old fashion that way and it is just a huge invitation for trouble. My opinion.

Um.. simply put? Absolu-freaking-lutely not.

Like you, I think it sounds like it's asking for trouble. On so many different levels.

pretty sure this question is "hypothetical" and doesn't pertain to the poster at all.....

Sorry, should have clarified, there was an article a month or so ago in a local paper about parents who allow their teens to have "relations" in the home. Some comments appeared to not care less if there kids were "doing it" under their roof and actually said it was better than getting caught somewhere in the car. The debate has been going strong and someone mentioned that they had a neighbor who allowed their 16/17 yr old daughter's BF to move into their home (guess he needed a place to live) and that he was over 18. It said that the two had become a couple while they were team mates or something like that. Did not mention a sport. Just got me to wondering with cheer having co-ed teams, would this be something you would or would not allow and why or why not.

what does this have to with cheerleading again? if you actually care about people's responses or opinions it may be better suited for the ever-exclusive parents forum.

@SkyBlue I agree that if you are serious about the question, this may be a great discussion for the Parent Forum. In the main section of the boards you will definitely get lots of opinions, just not sure how emotional or how varied you want to get with this discussion.

Thanks, I am serious about the question. Was kind of shocked at some of the comments I saw on the article thread and wanted to get cheer parents opinions. Maybe a moderator could move this to the Parent Forum @mstealtoyou

I can move it myself, but you've already posted it in the main section, so it's just as valuable to others on the board to understand the opinions others have about subjects like this.

Feel free to start a new one in the Parents Forum.
