I recently just started making bow keychains and bows. For my first team order I just used ribbon because that is the material that I am most familiar with. I have a big order coming up for Breast Cancer Night at my school and I am going to be making my first big bow with 3 inch ribbon. I am nervous because I've never made bows this big with an order this large.

I always cut my ribbon at 24 inches using 2 inch ribbon. What do I cut for 3 inch ribbon? I want the yella ribbon look with no long tails. I heard 18 inches, would this be correct? Any other suggestions

You definitely have to go longer with the 3" ribbon - even with the short tails that you want.

I use 25-27 when I make my bows but my bows dont have the "yella ribbon" look to it they have more of a "team cheer.com" look to it :D

I use 28" but as many others i don't really get the "yella ribbon" look..IMO the loops look better at about the same even side as the tails

I cut at 28"...however I have a custom hot knife for V cut on tails. If you are cutting your V by hand I might suggest cutting your ribbon at 30" to allow for the waste.
