No but, even if we don't get the bid our gym has raised enough money for us to go which is actually crazy for the town I live in. Nonetheless, we are aiming to get the bid so we can use that money to get stuff for our gym and more equipment.
I thought you had to have a bid to compete? Like worlds. If you can pay yourself that's great, but I still thought you had to have at least an at large.

i'm so shocked! gyms actually do 18 comps in one season?
i guess our schedule is not bad at all. we do 9 or 10 comps - one of which requires a flight. the rest are all within driving distance.

11 comps...12 if we go to the summit.

9 comps, 10 if we get a summit bid.

5 travel comps that you stay over night (Houston, Houston, ft worth, Dallas NCA, Orlando UCA, and maybe orlando again for the summit so maybe 6 travel comps)

5 of those have jacket winning/ring possibilities which is the best reward for travel with an additional chance to win a jacket for the battle of Texas based off of all your wins at the end of season!

But I'd love to do 15!! But only if they are big comps!!

If you think about it, it's not outrageous that we do that many comps. Some teams do some, some do others.
I just have the blessing of having 3 kids on 5 teams (Y3, The J5, Celebs, Vengeance and Super Seniors,) which makes for a busy season...

I very much look forward to the age-off occurring next season, though. And when I post a "Mama Needs Money" raffle or whatever on here, please, please contribute.

@Kris10boo Hush. You know not what you say.
When you go to as many comps as we do, your weeks, months, comps all run together. You don't remember which comp is which later on. You pack for comp, go, come home, wash whatever was in your suitcase and pack it right back up again. You live out of your car, you can't see non-cheer people because all you do is work and travel and go to the gym. All you want is a weekend off. A chance to clean your house. And then it's over. You spend the months of May and June like a hermit on your couch simply because you can.

There are still non-cheer people in your world?

My 2 CPs are on 4 different teams. We will have 1 International exhibition (Ireland), 1 show off and 11 competitions this season. 4 flights and two 6 hour drives. 8 of those competitions are two day events. There is also a possibility of the Summit.

I actually love to travel so I don't mind. Our comp season starts in January and ends the first week in April. I won't be home many weekends during that time.
