I'm not the most well versed in gymnastics either, but from what I've read from someone who is (Lauren Hopkins who writes for The Couch Gymnast- her tumblr is great Tell Me I'm Good...), FIG can't really do anything unless USAG files some kind of complaint against the Italian gymnastics federation. Apparently Martha probably isn't going to do that because she likely wants to protect Simone from it all. The girls don't really read things online or follow the international gymnasts, so they probably have no clue what was even said. And I've also read that the Italian gymnastics federation's Facebook got out of control after it all. Racism is outrageous in Italy, especially in recent years because of migrant workers coming over from Northern Africa. In the grand scheme of things I don't see anything major happening to her. She won't lose fans of her show because plenty of Italians feel the same way and I doubt anything will happen to her in gymnastics because Italy isn't deep enough talent-wise to replace her based on ridiculous comments alone. And that's really sad and messed up.

Too bad Marta watsn' truly about that life during the competition. Surely she could have raised some sort of hell..or maybe not. Who knows. At least most of them weren't winning gold anyway. But rest assure these 11 yr olds will be replaced by some new 11 year olds come Rio (maybe even next Worlds) and somebody better say something.
