I think it’s because they finish the initial spin (1 1/2 up) to the back with their feet together and then the bases continue the other 1/2 of the spin to the front and then the flyers hit the lib. So technically it would be a double up to an extended one legged stunt.
Yes I get that. But all the other levels have other twisting skills that are also considered elite. Level 2 is the only level that twisting to a body position isn’t included as one of the elite skills.
I tweeted this to varsity today....
@VarsityAllStar Why is a braced 1/4 to body position at L1, Full up to prep body position at L3, 1 1/2 up to Prep body position at L4, Full up to extended body position at R5, and 1 1/2 to extended body position at L5 all Elite Skills but 1/2 up to Prep body...
I coach a team that’s a mini 2 with 6 kids on it. Their first competition they scored a 97 and had the highest score of the comp. We decided to move them into the youth 2 division one competition to see what would happen and they won and ended up with a summit bid. They have consistently...

We experienced this this past weekend at a varsity event! Two weeks prior we where at another varsity event where we competed against 6 of the 8 teams we competed against this past weekend. We ended up scoring a 95.05. This past weekend at a varsity event using the same score sheet competing...
My youth 1 team has a bid to D1 Summit and we are a D2 gym and they always compete against the D1 teams and so far they have been winning! Also if you're trying to upgrade to a paid bid you have to compete as D1!
So I created this thread last year around Summit time and again I find myself asking the same questions! So my gym is a D2 gym we have about 100 athletes last year was our first time going to the summit we had one team going. We made the top 5 in the wildcard round but didn't make it to sat or...
Yeah I think Summit bids should be given out based on scores my team went to a competition a couple weekends ago we had the 5th highest score out all the D2 teams and one of the teams above us already had a bid. We also won our division but when it came down to giving out the summit bids not...
Some events we have to do it prior to the event like the week of. We email them what each team will accept and some events we do it when we check in at the event.
We are a D2 gym and we have teams going to both Summits. At each competition we have to declare what type of bid each team is willing to accept. So yes it's possible to have teams from the same D2 gym at the same event and some teams going after D2 summit bids and some going after D1 summit...
You can also sign up for the road to the summit email update. You will receive an email after each summit reveal that will have the D1 D2 and Dance Summit updated
