First, there was no "offer" to drop a level to utilize a different hair style. Next, there has been no change in ownership/coaching at WE. This whole situation is terrible and no 11 year old should have to deal with this. Her mother chose to go to the media with "her" story and I personally...
I am so sorry if someone did not get back to you immediately. We are usually very good about that. Please email me at [email protected] and I promise we will get back to you immediately.
I released that statement only because we were told the article was going to be about our kids winning their first world championship, and the hard work, dedication, leadership etc. that goes into putting yourself in a position to even have a chance to accomplish that goal. I believed it was...
Wow! I didn't even realize that was in our routine, but I personally don't see where it was so inappropriate (and we are pretty conservative when it comes to that stuff). Did it need to be there? No. But you must have been looking really hard to find this as your example of inappropriate.... I...
I can only speak for Woodlands Elite, but we do not attend Champions League to "thumb our noses at Varsity". We attend because it is another chance to compete against pretty amazing competition. I am fairly certain most of the other programs that attend Champions League attend quite a few...
Thanks for the input! We definitely would not be changing it if the judges liked it. However, we received very specific comments from some pretty good judges that we will be seeing through April...
Actually day two was a much better performance, but you all are not the only one's that didn't like it. The judges didn't like it either. We were trying to do something different that just didn't work. It will be changed before our next Nationals and I expect a much better performance from...
Thanks for the clarification. We are lucky in Texas to have a Core person at most of our regional events as well. Hopefully, in the years to come this will be standard for all sanctioned events.
No doubt. Although I would like to think it would be the same at every bid event whether it was in Texas or not. About 20% of bid events do not have a Core Safety Judge? That seems a little concerning.
I can tell you it was enforced completely at Spirit Celebration in Denton two weekends ago. From visiting with coaches and owners of other gyms I believe almost every worlds team received a safety violation after their first routine for that very rule. And yes, the safety judge did a lot of...
Thank you! We will utilize what we learned in Denton and work even harder to get better. We had some great performances but as a whole we did not perform to our standard. Spirit and CA certainly gave us a wake-up call! There were many other really good teams there as well.
The second routine scored a 94.757. Thank you for the compliment (and you are correct, we are still trying to get in shape to jump the way we are capable of. Still a lot of cleaning to do). It's early though, they are great competitors and will get there.
Our coed teams are able to do more difficult load-ins with older flyers simply because the boys are stronger (and these particular flyers have tremendous technique). We also have smaller boys that are not able to put up older flyers just from a pure strength standpoint. Therefore, we have...
Yes. I believe you will see more and more coed teams turning to smaller, and in many cases younger flyers each year. It seems to be the direction we are headed...
