As we all expected this is going to get interesting. Bakari Sellers is saying his law firm is representing victims and they have USASF in their sights. He’s arguably one of the most connected and highest profile attorneys in SC.
FitNews is a no nonsense news agency. If there’s something to be discovered they’ll figure it out. Suicide is so tragic. Now the allegations are public and he cannot defend himself. Maybe there was no defense. There’s been rumors for years. What I had heard was with 18+ athletes so more...
You can search his name on this forum and you’ll find accusations of some shady stuff. Not sure I’ve ever seen provable sexual allegations. Definitely things like partying with underage athletes. Truth is it could have been anything or nothing. We will likely never know unless law enforcement...
But ultimately it is the coach/gym who bears the penalty (whatever that might be) of failure to comply. While a reasonable attempt should be made to make sure athletes are protected, the USASF has again overstepped their bounds.
I'm curious about the statement that is being repeated all over Twitter by coaches from multiple gyms. It goes as follows "A new social media policy has rolled out to protect minors. I am PROUD of the USASF for taking a bold stand to protect our athletes. I'm kindly requesting that all cheer...
I bet it wasn't all that hard really. Just took some time. Each anon probably had a public profile that favorited and retweeted every tweet. Follow that profile back to Facebook/Instagram and you likely will find similar posts. I bet the phone number was public on that Facebook profile.
Just about everything about this ticks me off. It makes me crazy when coaches try to own the skills of the athletes. Sure, their guidance may have helped them, but with that mentality we should be able to blame them for the athletes that don't progress. They certainly don't want to take...
@tumbleyoda - that certainly gives credence to the theory that happy people don't leave. It is possible for a small gym to retain talent. I think the most important message in your post is not to try to be something that you are not. I think it is also so important not to vilify the competition...
It is such a challenge for these smaller gyms. Like I said in the original post, in our area there are no other more competitive options available. However, in larger markets that is not the case. It is unfortunate that there are few opportunities for these kids to showcase those skills. In the...
I was spending a bit of time yesterday stalking some athletes at my kids former gym and checking out the team placements for those kids. The gym is currently the most competitive in our community. I noticed more than a handful of athletes with solid L4 skills being placed on L3 teams because...
Ok, it's 8:30 and there are still plenty of seats in the Fieldhouse. Might possibly be USASF's best decision in a long time to put LgCoed so early and separate them from LgSenior.
Not my experience, but my mother's. She was a devout Catholic and said a daily rosary for most of her life. She would see spirits fairly regularly. She felt they were lost souls in purgatory and would offer up her rosary to that person and the visits would stop. Sometime later another would show...
Ummmm. My CP and I are in the theatre and there are only two other people here. This is not a huge cheer town, but there are several gyms around. Last year the theatre was nearly packed. Not a good sign for the CL brand.
