My CP has an on campus job through federal work study and they’re very flexible. She’s limited to only a few hours per week because the work study program dictates how much she makes per semester and her hourly rate means she can only work about 10 hours per week. She has a second job at a small...
^^^^ This. Plus on the board I admin, we ended up setting up a separate section only available to members with a certain number of posts (to prevent sock puppet accounts being created just to further the pot stirring) where debates, contentious topics, etc. can be a little more loosely...
I can't help you with arms other than just practicing the arm motions over and over for the muscle memory - standing and then transitioning to T-jumps and finally adding it to a real jump. As far as the chest goes... When she jumps, she should be rolling her hips forward to bring her legs up...
Former CP suffered compression fractures of T5 and T6 in second grade from an accident in PE. Feel free to pm me if you want to talk. I hope your little heals quickly!
Wrist bands usually aren't too bad because they have several ticket booths set up inside, so you don't have to go to the box office.
If you need to be there by 11, I'd plan to get there no later than 9 to find parking, find where you're supposed to be and buy your tickets. I've never bought...
Depending on what time you get there, there is a parking garage under the convention center. That's your easiest place - especially with a baby. Depending on time of day, though, it can be full and there's often a long line to get in, so give yourself plenty of extra time.
My second...
Another yes vote for a specialist. Not only can they give you the specific protocol to follow, they can do the testing and compare her to average girls her age. When DD had a concussion, the concussion clinic was able to monitor her test percentiles to see when she had recovered and make sure...
I agree with everyone else. Plus, if you can drop down to level 2 later, why couldn't you move up to level 3 later if you start off on 2 and then get the skills strong enough to compete level 3? IMO, that would be less stressful.
You either trust that the gym/coaches have the best interest of the team at heart or you don't. If you don't, then you shouldn't stay. First and foremost, gyms and coaches want their teams and their business to be successful. What needs to be done to accomplish that may not always be in an...
That coaches' fee doesn't sound unreasonable. Airfare, extra hotel costs (because I'm sure the coaches don't want to share a bed), a per diem for food and other expenses, compensation, etc. tend to add up quickly.
I agree that CCs are a good idea for many students and have a lot to offer. Part of the draw for students to go to Blinn is because it is used by so many as a stepping stone to Texas A&M. How much $$ do you think Blinn would lose if Texas A&M decided to stop accepting transfer credits and...
She may not have known, but no volunteer should ever have that much unsupervised access. For that, she is responsible.
Navarro also has minor high school students on the cheer team because they are taking dual credit classes there. Any time you have adults dealing with minors, you should have...
Butt glue. Pageant contestants and dancers use it. I can't remember the real name - something like It Stays. It's a super sticky roll on. We learned the hard way to store it in a ziplock.
If the back can accommodate a bra band, this is what CP wore strapless several years ago with a similar style top.
Since it's a "minimizer", it compresses and holds everything in place pretty well - similar to a sports bra.
