The only problem I have is that if A&T or STUNT were to be recognized by the NCAA as a sport it would only make it harder for competitive cheerleading to then ever become a sport because it would be so similar. Thats the one reason i prefer STUNT because at least the overall routine at then end...
Thanks for posting, this information is really helpful. I just have two questions if you dont mind answering. Is A&T considered a college sport under NCAA? Can a college choose which sports they want to include under the varsity level even if it is not recognized as one nationally?
Well i feel like its more of an "one or the other" just because not all colleges will have enough athletes to field two separate teams. Some colleges have replaces cheerleading with A&T and if this becomes a popular trend where does that leave male cheerleaders?
i'm pretty sure that was a STUNT championships the day after NCA nationals. I actually really prefer the format of STUNT over A&T just because I think it stays more true to the traditional form of cheerleading that we are used to seeing at competitions. And in that case Louisville used their all...
thats what confuses me on the entire thing. I don't see A&T as a bad thing but i do think it would be a shame to see it replace competitive cheerleading in colleges. However it would be a conflict of interest for a college to field both an A&T and competitive cheer team.
I do see what your saying and I'm sure if I was an athlete on an A&T team I would enjoy it as well. I'm just trying to say that 1) as a spectator I think a traditional cheerleading routine is more appealing then watching A&T and 2) I think it would be a shame if A&T was used to replace pre...
I just wanted to start this thread because i recently watched a video on YouTube of a college acrobatics and tumbling meet. As a cheerleader myself I was very surprised by how little I was into it. I found the rounds to go by very slow and the overall routines at the end to be kind of boring...
Personally I do not think it would be a good idea to have division 1 and 2 at worlds. As an athlete, it would really bother me to come in third in a "mega-gym" division while another team who my team could have beat gets to walk around and call themselves world champions. Also, I do not think...
