I can honestly say that my daughter on Stingrays never cross competed. She was on Teal, Teal, Green, Green, Smoke, Orange, Orange, and Orange. She could easily have jumped on another team but Stingrays tries to not do that unless there is an injury or a last minute problem.

Every routine still has a cheer; the difference being that we are cheering for ourselves as oppoesed to cheering on another sport in progress. The music fades and the crowd jumps in, chants, and screams. How about Competitive Performance Cheer?
That's why it's an industry and not a sport. I believe the question raised was what steps needed to be taken to make cheerleading a sport as opposed to an industry? I feel pretty strongly that the chher world would be taken more seriously if those steps were implemented.

1. Cap and/or standardize registration fees.
2. Eliminate kickbacks to gym owners for participation.
3. Reduce the number of Competition Companies, thereby making a National Title more meaningful.
