I'm curious who has ever had to compete 2 large competitions in the same day and what brands allow this? Could you compete at Summit and The One on the same day??
Can someone help clear this up. Ive emailed USASF but waiting for a response. I have always heard prep teams were half year teams. Is this not the case? Can they be year round?
Ccan anyone help me understand the 1/4 twisting transition to prep? I had my girls hitting a scale with the base facing the front so flyers hips were facing the left, then pulling the knee into a lib and the side base would grab that foot dip and hit a half twisting the stunt to the front. I...
we are from a smaller town with 5 teams. Tiny 1 , Mini 1, Youth 2, Junior 2, Senior 3. Our Try Outs are $15 and we seem to push to the older teams, but do have several cross over.
oh no I'm sorry I meant making the entire team go down to a level 1. By all means if the gym has a level 1 team shes age appropriate for that would be the best fit.
All gyms are different. I coach at a small gym and we have a level 1 mini team then level 2 youth...her daughter would fit in great. But if shes going to a gym that has aenough kids on a higher level its not fair to them to make them go down to level 1 jsut because shes new to the sport
I would pay more to go to the bigger gym. She deffinitely sounds like a level 1 athlete at this piont. On a level appropriate team she will feel better about her self and enjoy it more as well as bloom faster in the sport.
I'm curious how other gyms run try outs.
1. Is there a fee?
2. How large is your cheer gym? How many teams are there and what levels?
3. Do they push talent to older teams or make them crossover? For example you have a 7 year old with a round off back handspring. Does she get placed on youth...
Let me start off by saying you sound like a normal first time cheer dad so dont worry it will grow on you lol. But yes its normal to change the rountine in parts weekly. We changed out routine this week because we needed more difficulty. However whether its helping or hurting your team i cant...
Glad to see not everyone on here is an idiot. Thanks for the response. We do work on handstands against the wall and she can hold them pretty long. The past 2 weeks during her gymnastics private her coach has been working with her on them and just spots 2 fingers behind her back. My daughter...
Why are you telling me my daughters routines? We work on them every night I think i know them lol....and we already established shes competing aau thats why shes allowed to compete at 3 at level 1
Actually for your info she is competing....i just paid for her number...i know theres 2 different systems....usga and something else but i forget the ackronym...she might be in the other but either way she is allowed to compete at every comp they are going to....and jsut because she is close to...
I don't like to say where I'm from on online forums...sorry...but I have talked to them and they just say shes close and doing great...but she didnt start the one finger spot thing till tonight.....but shes not in a cheer gymnastics class anymore because shes competing in gymnastics as well so...
The reason im arguing is because noone has answered my question they jsut keep giving their opinions...I didn't ask do you think my 3 yr old should be allowed to throw her back handspring...and for your information you should see her jump up and down with a big grin on her face when she lands...
I think I'm just going to delete this post....no one in this group wants to answer my question they jsut want to give their own opinion that I shouldnt allow her to do the bhs....no one is listening to the fact that she almost has it by herself.....she jst has a mental block with throwing it on...
Not all gyms teach a BWO before a BHS....i never learned a BWO.....doing a BHS and a BWO are completely differentit takes more muscle and body control to do a BWO or bridge kick over....she can do her bridge and hold one leg up for a while but cant pull it over on her own...where as a BHS is...
