It definitely was a shock to me too that she was coming home. I am hearing everything through my other coach who is hearing it from her mom so I am wondering if it wasn't nearly as bad as I originally thought. I am definitely concerned it will happen again and will make sure to keep an eye on...
Thank you to everybody again for the advice. From what I am hearing she is doing better. I found out she should be returning to practice on Monday. Her mom has said it would be ok for us to say something short to her that we are here for her no matter what she needs and that we care for her...
I think for me it would depend on what the situation was. If the coach was able to help out to make them more stable I think I would allow a limited release or talk to the psychologist and have them write a letter to the coach on some tips to help my child.
I am just trying to get some ideas of different ways to handle it. Each person is going to have a different approach and I am taking in ideas and figuring out what I feel will be the best way after talking with my assistant coach and her mom and based on what I know about my athlete. I agree...
I'm not sure why I never thought of talking to the school counselor. I'm not sure at this point how much the school knows about the situation, if any, so I will need to check with her mom first to see. It is so hard hearing one of your athletes wants to end her life. We are all still trying...
We have a girl who just recently attempted suicide. She will be coming back to the team in about a week or so and I am not sure how to approach the situation. The team does not know (per request of the family) what happened. We told them she had medical issues. I am wondering as a coach how...
I am wondering if someone could help me out with making star cutouts on bows. I have been trying to find a machine that would do it that isn't too horribly expensive but I am not sure which ones will cut fabric/ribbon. If someone could give me some tips on this, it would be greatly appreciated...
I cut mine by folding in half too for making a V. There is a product that is called Fray Check that you can use to help seal the ends, but I also use clear nail polish. (I use a base coat.) When I burn the ends, I have noticed the ends sort of shrink or end up with a little discoloring. I...
I only have a couple bows posted right now, but I make cheer bows. :) I have some for as little as $5. Here's my shop page: etsy.com/shop/craftsbykristen14 and my facebook page: facebook.com/craftsbykristen. I can work with you on colors and styles.

Cheerleading always has it's rough moments where people want to quit for one reason or another. As a coach, I always hate seeing girls that don't want to be there because I love the sport and I want everybody else to love it too. But, I also feel that if someone really doesn't want to be there...
