For me:
Spirit Explosion is anywhere from 2-4 hours away depending on transit schedule.
South Jersey Storm is 2-2.5 hours
World Cup - 1.5 hours
CJA - 1 hour
MD Twisters - 3-4 hours
ECE - 3-4 Hours
Just a suggestion - there are no cheer gyms in Manhattan NYC (this is coming from an upset New Yorker haha!) You could have a gym located there maybe :)
Maybe you could do your own voiceovers in your gym...like, have casting call through the athletes to see who could do them for certain songs? I...
I guess in that case 4.2 might make sense, since you guys did level 4 stunts but only needed back handsprings. Idk overall I feel like the level 4 flyers aren't far away from being level 5, and those girls would probably try out for level 5 teams if it were just for their flying...and I'm not a...
I definitely agree...I also know a lot of the good 4.2 teams are actually more like "real" level 4, though. For instance, I know of this one gym that changed their team from 4 to 4.2 for NCA so they'd have a better chance at winning.
Yeah 4.2 would have probably been better in that case...I feel like a lot of athletes on 4.2 overall are more level 2 than "4.2" if that makes sense, I assume that a lot of people on 4.2 haven't really tried level 4 stunting yet.
Those definitely aren't the best, I always felt like they had really narrow soles on them, and they felt kinda heavy. The Nikes and Nfinitys are much more comfortable in my opinion
I agree...I feel like on IOC5 and 6 you either make it for 2 reasons: you're a good stunter (especially open 6), or you're a good tumbler...or both. I'm guessing a lot of gyms probably aren't that strict with who they accept for IOC4 since it's not a worlds division, like they may accept people...
cool I'll have to remember that! I only have sports authority, the nike store, and mostly expensive places where I live, so I guess maybe that's why I've never found them on sale.
Personally, I think it's great for athletes who may not have all of their tumbling but have ability to learn higher level stunts. That said, I don't think it benefits high-level flyers that much. If you're a already a level 4 flyer, I wouldn't want to do a 4.2 team, I'd want to do something more...
I agree, nikes are great for field/wood surfaces. I have like 4-5 pairs of random brand shoes for just practice/outdoors/etc...(Nikes, Oasics, random brands I can't remember lol...) and 2 pairs of nfinitys (vengenace and evolution) that only touch the blue mat.
EDIT: (sorry I posted twice, I...
I agree. Nikes are great for field/wood floor surfaces, and then you won'r ruin nfinitys for competitions. Personally, I have like 4-5 pairs of random brand shoes (Nike, Oasics, I can't even remember lol...) and 2 pairs of nfinitys that only touch the blue mat.
Kick doubles were killer for me when I first tried to do them lol...can you do a straight double, or a kick-arch basket? maybe it will help to learn them separately and then put them together. for kick doubles though, pretty much I just ride the basket high and kick my right leg straight up...
Yeah I've tried the train to other gyms before and I was a little scared at first...but I'm a level 5 cheerleader and I hate the idea of giving up cheer just because of the commute :(
I'm 18 and the practice is only on weekends. I would have school the next day but it wouldn't start till 9AM so it won't be to bad!
I'm level 5 so I feel like it may be worth it. If I was doing a lower-level team I'd probably just stay local
I used to commute a little over an hour drive. The gym I want to go to, is 2-3 hours away (but it's a REALLY good, big name gym, probably the best one around my area) and I'd have to take train/bus and not get home till 12:30 or 1 AM from practice. (Not many good gyms near where I live that...
