I feel that the coach handled this with lack of respect to you and to the team. If you specifically requested the opportunity to tell the girls yourself, she should have honored that... not just because you coach these girls, but also because after being loyal to that program through the years...

I was a coach for many years... there's one thing I know... cheerleaders young & old like to pose for pictures! ;)

We used to do "FUN" bow practice, or "FUN" socks practice... every now and then, usually the last practice before a 2 day comp. The carrot we dangled was, if you hit your stuff and we have time at the end you can pose for pictures. It gave them team bonding time and also allowed them a chance...
