At our gym you still pay if you are going to go with the team to the competitions. You come to practices, you go to competitions just as you would if you were competing. You then will win whatever the teams wins and go with them to warmup, compete, etc. If you don't want to do that, you don't pay.
Senior 4 starts 6:02 pm depending on size and coed or not and restricted 5 is mixed in with those, that session ending at 8:36 pm (session#5), all girl depends on what you are looking for but medium starts it at 11:26 am with F5 ending all girl at 1:04 pm, International Open all after that.
The difference between earning a WC and an At Large or Paid is the competition you earn it at is a one day competition. Doesn't mean the teams earning the bids are less deserving. It's just as hard to get a WC, if not harder since they are handed out the way they are. For ex. a junior 1 team...
I can assure you that everyone doesn't do it, our gym doesn't. We only have flipfloppers if we absolutely have to have it for a spot on a team (and I said a spot, not half a team or a doezen) or if someone is injured.
