All-Star Usa Cheer New Music Rules..

I don't think you can monetize videos that contain other's copyrights. The labels would get all the revenue from the videos more than likely. It is still an easy way to give cheerleaders easy access to their videos though, so I would consider it a win for them.

High School New Cheer Music Rules

Then why would they not go after night clubs or fitness studios who play mixes of popular songs all the time? They are a much bigger industry than cheer. Most of the PROs have never expressed an opinion of the playback of mixes. If PROs didn't allow the playback of mixes then the use of covers...

High School New Cheer Music Rules

It's important to remember that USA Cheer is not an official governing body for cheer. It's a subsidiary of Varsity and these rules changes have nothing to do with any change it law. If you are going to use popular music (even covers) in your routine you need to ensure that the event or venue...

All-Star Usa Cheer New Music Rules..

You are entitled to mix music you own. US courts have always found in favour of consumers' rights to manipulate and alter products they have purchased. You can't then go and sell it, because the original creator has the exclusive rights to this. That's why the cheer producers were sued...

All-Star Usa Cheer New Music Rules..

Nightclubs have the same ASCAP and BMI licenses that a Cheer gym or any other venue would have to pay to play copyrighted music; PRO (Performance Rights Organization) fees. The only difference arises when you want to record or broadcast the event, but covers run into the exact same difficulty if...

All-Star Usa Cheer New Music Rules..

If you require an individual license to play each remixe at a gym wouldn't every nightclub in America get sued for playing remixes without getting a license for each one? That would be a way bigger market to go after than cheerleading.

All-Star Usa Cheer New Music Rules..

They only started to care because several cheer producers got sued, not because any producer made it their mission to make people aware. Heck, all cover versions do is cut out the original artists who made the song famous and replace them with an imitation so they don't have to pay. In the...

All-Star Usa Cheer New Music Rules..

The crazy part is that YouTube takes care of copyright issues. They have an agreement with the labels that allows them to sync music with videos. The labels then monetize the videos and receive payouts for it, they can even do mash-ups and cheer mixes! Of course, some songs won't be on the...

Music How Is Everyone Finding The Original Cheer Music They've Received So Far?

With the new Varsity music rules a lot of people have been moving to all original music. I know a lot of the cheer producers have been working hard to create original music. How have people found the original cheers they've received so far?

All-Star Usa Cheer New Music Rules..

It doesn't matter if you own the master recording rights, you also need permission from the publishers, which belong to the original writers and publishing company. The mechnical license (Harry Fox Licence) that allows covers does not include the right to manipulate or alter the composition (and...

All-Star Usa Cheer New Music Rules..

The mechanical rights that allow people to sell covers DO NOT include the rights to mix that cover. Varsity is incorrect in this statement.

Music Dj Rizz (extremetraxxproductions) Leaving Cheer Music Mixing?

We created a site called Legitmix.com/cheer because of this case.
