Is it legal for flyers to do a full twist while flipping and connected by one arm to the back spot?
Starts in sponge, bases dip and throw-- completely relasing, flyer does a full twisting front layout while holding the hand of the back spot the entire time and is caught in a cradle.
I have a full group (two bases, one flyer, one "backspot") that does an extension before one of our half turning trick. Ideally, I would like for the flyer to go up on the two bases as if she were doing a group stunt, but have the "backspot" standing in front of her. The back spot is tall enough...
Is it a failure to not progress? If you are trying are trying to progress, than the answer is YES (which in this sport, I would say the goal of most people is that they are trying to progress). However, there are many ways to measure progress, which is where I think many people get frustrated in...
I think Eric Little is one of the most naturally talented choreographers I've ever worked with. He is so innovative and works very intuitively. I also LOVE Jose Gonzalez and Luke Johnson's work! :)
But if I am not using front spots because they are getting some of my running tumbling points during that time, would I then need all 8 baskets to make it max out?
I throw 8 total baskets in a level 3 routine with 20 kids (4 pike opens in opening, 4 fulls before pyramid) without front spots (others are tumbling during this time). Would I still max out since 8 tosses would technically be 100% (5 baskets) plus three additional. Or does it make a difference...
I used to wrap to my chest (my first gym didn't have a preference). My second/current gym taught me to wrap straight arms down to my left hip which is a little harder but still very do-able. I think it looks way prettier to do it with arms straight down, but it's probably easier to open up from...
We are trying to find a good national championship for a non-mount high school team? I know there are far less non-mount teams as opposed to mounting teams (especially among the high school teams that compete nationally), therefore we are struggling to find a national that would give us alot of...
I think it definitely depends on the dance/music. Different athletes perform different styles better. I think the point dance needs to be someone that has the perfect balance of standing out without being over the top, being clean but still getting their body into the dance, and making the dance...
I would have her break that habit just by teaching her to start with her arms down and swing back then bringing them up for the set. As far as teaching the tuck like you are doing it out of a jump I don't think its a good idea. I'm big on proper progression- Clean consistent standing tuck first...
My girls all call me by my first name, high school and allstar ones. However when I was in high school I called my allstar coaches by first name and my high school coach Mrs ---
I think there is a way for you to do file some kind of petition to the usasf to get permission for an athlete that was not on the alternate list, but I'm not sure.
When I started partner stunting I learned....
Shoulder sit (well I already knew how to do that)
Toss chair
Toss hands
Toss hands press extension
Walk in hands
Walk in extension
Then I kind of worked both entries (toss and walk-ins) but mostly toss just because as you get more advanced that is...
I suppose as a judge I would rather see a no throw (as in I would deduct less for that than a bust).
As a coach or competitor, I would much rather have an athlete/teammate go hard and bust than no throw.
