What brand of lip stain would you recommend for Youth cheerleaders? We've never used a stain before (just gloss) and am looking for a decent priced brand ($10-$15) that'll stay put throughout warmups and performance. My girls are bad to chew their lips when nervous. :(
I'm curious how this effects rec non-profit groups that can't afford to pay high amounts for music? Our budget is $100. I guarantee that the providers listed isn't going to offer 1:30 of music for that price. We normally use legitmix. Will we still be able to do that? We don't compete at...
Does anyone have tips for a youth school team attending competition brands
- cheer max- Cheer Max, Cheer Competitions, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky and
-spirit solutions- http://www.spiritsolutions.com/ ?
Both follow AACCA competition rules but I've yet to figure out what they...
Honestly, I'm not sure. :/
It's a 1 minute cheer with a few lines of motions/jumps and goes into the crowd leading section where we use signs and poms.
Hi guys,
I coach a youth rec league and am having trouble with our competition cheer. Everything I come up with is well, blah. lol. I'd love something more original than the normal Go, Fight, Win cheer. If anyone enjoys writing cheers, I'd love ur help.
Team Name: Southside Celtics

Hi guys,
I coach a youth rec league and am having trouble with our competition cheer. We do a high school style cheer and are doing an old style rock theme. If anyone enjoys writing cheers, I'd love ur help.
Team Name: Southside Celtics
Colors: Green and white, or Green, Black, and White...
Realized that I never thanked u for ur advice! U were right, they can do the dance without using me as a crutch. Lol
As far as mats go, the school has 2 old fold out mats that we use and I bring 1 from home for mounts. I also have either myself or a parent helper with each mount group. In the...
I'm trying to find out what songs r being played during the intermission at competitions (while the cheerleaders freestyle dance on the floor). I'd like to make a cd of them for practice and teach my cheerleaders the more popular dances so they feel comfortable and have fun at comp! Our 1st...
How about from a judges point of view? Do they care or score differently based on where the cheer is? I'm youth rec (7-11 yr. olds) but we're normally scored by aacca rules.
I think it looks better to have the cheer in the middle but is easier to do cheer first, then music. Even when doing...
Is a belly cradle legal n aacca rules? From prep level, bases pop cradle as normal but backspot pulls ankles back so that flyer lands on belly n bases arms (bases actually catch chest!). Like n this video.
The rec league itself may have guidelines on how often u can practice. Where I'm at, we're only allowed to practice 2 days a week for 2 hours tops each practice. We also have a squad gymnastics day each week.
Since u can't start a rec cheer squad until u have a ball team to cheer for, I would start there. Go to whoever is over the sports league and talk to them about adding cheerleading to their program. Then they would supply your insurance (at a per girl fee) and tell u what team u can cheer for.
Here is the actual score sheet. Not very helpful. lol. I've checked the website for more info but all it says is that rec divisions will follow aacca rules and gives the website. It's our first time attending this competition brand.

I coach a rec team but this year they follow the high school aacca rules for competition. At our first 2 comps, 40% of our score is made up of tumbling and jumps! Tumbling is our weak spot since a lot of the girls can't afford gymnastics classes. At most we'll have 1 or 2 bhs, some good...
I loved all these tips! If you guys don't mind, I'd love to pick your brains a bit :). I sponsor a non-profit rec squad. Youth ages 6-10. We only get to practice 3 hrs a week, gym floor, no mats.
It's my first year doing our choreography completely on my own and the dance is the hardest part for...
