    Backhandspring Help

Her feet are behind her in the back handspring, I like to use a panel mat and have my girls just put their toes/middle of their feet up on the mat with the heel on the ground and throw the backhand spring like that. It forces them to go back. Hope this helps! The Fierce Board App! || iPhone...

    Dismounts & Log Rolls

We were told that it's a transition as long as one of the bases maintains contact with the flyer. We have our backspots keep ahold of the flyers ankles and the bases do all the catching. The Fierce Board App! || iPhone || Android

    All-Star Varsity Scoring

I don't have a question, but I found it helpful to watch the judging videos on varsityallstar.com. I just clicked on scoring then judges training videos. It breaks each category down to what would score a perfect score. There are also videos to go along with most things. Hope this helps...

    Tumbling Roadblock

I know you said that you've gone back to basics, but have you tried maybe having a coach "reteach" the skill? Round off back handspring high rebound making sure your body is in the correct position to set. Then having them basically perform the skill for you to get the right feeling back...

    All-Star Random Cheerleading Questions

Yes, but that breaks up the running tumbling pass. Therefore you may not connect a back handspring to the toe touch because that would be considered a jump handspring combination. The Fierce Board App! || iPhone || Android

    Level 1

What if for level one it is during a pyramid and the flyers are in prep level arabesque connected to the middle prep. Still legal? Do they need to maintain contact to the middle prep until they have been caught? The Fierce Board App! || iPhone || Android

    Is This Level 2?

From what I have read in the rules, yes it would be legal. Although I believe the part right after that (where they go through extension over the backspot) would be illegal due to not having a spotter while going above prep level. The Fierce Board App! || iPhone || Android

    Safety Deduction Question

One of our teams dropped the middle prep in a sr 2 routine and only got a dropped stunt deduction. They didn't hit us with an illegal stunt because they said that it was obvious that it was supposed to be connected but that a stunt fell.

All-Star When Should A Skill Be Warned Vs When A Full Deduction Should Be Given?

One of my teams had our prep group fall from pyramid along with one of the sides, although our other side still went up into the one leg extended position (it's level 2 so that is illegal). As soon as it happened I just knew we would be hit with a deduction. It was our fault as coaches because...

All-Star Cheering At A Different Gym From My Sister...

I love this idea! It's similar to the sports "house divided" shirts. You may be able to look up some designs like that for more inspiration.

    Single Based Extensions (aacca)

Are you asking for HS or for allstar? For allstar I believe it's legal for the spotter to have one hand on ankle and one on the foot.

    All-Star Long Commute For Cheer?

I cheered at a gym that was 2.5-3 hours away, and we had to be there twice a week. It wasn't too bad because we always had somebody driving us so we had plenty of time to do homework or whatever during the trip. One thing that was difficult was doing school cheer as well as allstar.

    All-Star Is This Level 5????

Yes, a jump connected to a tuck is a level 5 skill. It doesn't matter if that is a front or back tuck. The Fierce Board App! || iPhone || Android || Upgrade Your Account!

    Legality Level 4

Wouldn't the half twist to cradle be illegal though because it states that multibased stunts must have a separate spotter for the head and shoulder region? The Fierce Board App! || iPhone || Android || Upgrade Your Account!

    T-jump

My concern is that the competition we are attending says that it's illegal, unless we can prove otherwise. I just don't want my kids getting deducted for it. The Fierce Board App! || iPhone || Android || Upgrade Your Account!

    T-jump

Can someone please explain to me why a t-jump backhandspring is or is not legal in level 2? I've gotten many mixed responses about this issue and I would like to hopefully get this resolved. Thanks in advance! The Fierce Board App! || iPhone || Android || Upgrade Your Account!

All-Star Can You Explain The Pros And Cons Of Crossovers?

In my opinion there are pros and cons of having crossovers, on my junior three team it's nice to have big bases/backspots, but it's great that those kids can fly on our senior teams too. One thing that I would say is definitely a con is that my kids don't have a long with their entire teams...

    Jumps

Have you done just t-jumps with counts? I think that helps my team a lot. We always do that before we start a new jump sequence. Also our gym, as well as many others, will have the girls yell "hit" on the count that they're supposed to hit their jumps on. Hope this helps at least a bit! The...
