The school I coach at has next to no budget for music and we tend to use legitmix for our routines. The mixes are usually pretty cheap; some of them starting around $25 depending on the length. You can even purchase some that already have voice overs added in them. If you're looking for an...
I coach at a small catholic high school that has about 120 people. This year we have a team of 10 (7 seniors graduated last year!), and l am frequently amazed by their progress and dedication. Small teams have their difficulties, but it also allows for plenty of individualized attention.
Hawk Nelson might have some good song options, depending on how far back you go.
Thousand Foot Krutch, Britt Nicole, and Lecrae are good options as well! I've heard all three in cheer music before.
The school I coach at has used their mixes for the last five or so years. Great mixes, but they can be on the expensive side. If you can afford the price, it's definitely worth it.
When I cheered, my coach always recommended that we look above where crowd is, rather than where they really are/at our feet, if we felt nervous about performing in front of groups.
Always go with who is the best leader on the team. At the school I coach at, us coaches pick the two/three best leaders and let the team vote on who they would prefer to be their captain. Alternatively, there have been years where we have chosen not to have captains because we saw more attitudes...
Our seniors have gotten shadow boxes with their bow and team picture in them. This year we're thinking about giving them team pictures, autograph bows signed by the team and a bow holder that has all the bows that were used during their 4 years.
I'm starting my senior year of college on Wednesday. Double majoring in psychology and social work! Hoping to start grad school next year to get my MSW.
This year, the school I coached at ordered sublimation uniforms from Omnicheer. There's 6 different customizable designs to choose from. They're about $90 a set (top and bottom) and are a pretty decent quality, with breathable fabric. The sizes are standard cut, but long enough that even your...
The team I'm coaching has 13 girls. I'm having trouble coming up with a second pyramid idea for their competition routine.
The first pyramid they're doing is a lib hitch in the center, with two halves on the sides--one holding the foot, the other linked by one arm.
Does anyone have suggestions...
Yes! That video is exactly what I was asking about. Either doing it exactly like that, or having two different people waiting to catch the cradle. I'll be sure to email him and ask about the legality of it anyway. Thank you all for your help!

I'm new to coaching and have a question about the legality of a stunt.
I know for a suspended forward roll, the flyer has to be braced by either two side bracers or a spotter/someone in their stunt group. Is it legal to have the person who is fronting the stunt (or just an additional person of...
